Nico played his heart out tonight. Definitely limited by the poor OL blocking and WR play tonight.

Was expecting more progress and improvement from Nico in his accuracy and pocket presents this year. A lot of room to improve.

We definitely should expect more from a 8 million dollar QB.

Problem is we don’t know if it’s Nico or Halzle, poor OL blocking or the play calling, or a combo of all.

Definitely expecting a big jump next year w Nicos development or we can expect more of the same.

Beating a dead horse here but is a healthy Mike Matthews a worse option than 50% at best Thornton? Guess he saw some action tonight but Thornton still trying to go after half time was puzzling.

I wish football was a rhythm sport like volleyball. It’s so much more than that and it’s why Nico struggles

Just to nitpick I hate how Nico runs.

Always looks like he is running sideways.

No doubt he was. Hooker was good and decisive. Also was good at finding the open man within different coverages and blitzes. Was crazy good at pre-snap reads too. There were some open windows tonight that 2022 Hooker would’ve capitalized on.

Totally agree with this, and Nico is not at this level yet. But to be fair, it really didn’t seem to click for Hooker until he was what? A 5th year senior?

IMO a big reason our elite WR have struggled this years

you may be onto something. Hate to be too harsh on a kid, but it's a new day with compensation, etc. I think he was simply bad tonight. Tough? Absolutely. Effort? Sure. Vision and decision-making? I'm not Heup but I thought it was poor. Kitselman was open for mid range gains nearly every play that I watched and I think he threw him one ball. Homerun? no, but damn, he was open.....a lot.
He just doesn't process quickly. Arm talent and guts? Absolutely. But it just isn't clicking.

Nico has his flaws, hopefully with experience he works those out. But one thing you can’t argue: he was the only player who gave 100% effort offensively tonight, and in general

We don’t have any elite wrs. Ohio state has elite wrs. They were lighting us up every pass play and were open by at least 5 yards most of the time. On man press.

I’ve wanted Tim banks fired for years. Every big time meaningful game against any team that can pass his defense gets TORCHED. Willie Martinez should be fired in the locker room. Our dbs are always a joke.

Exactly. I just don’t understand why ppl think we have an elite wr room. What have they done this year at all? Nico couldn’t consistently get over 200 passing yards…

Banks should def be blamed about continually rushing 4 and nothing more. Howard is ass under pressure but we decided to not try and pressure tonight. A shame
