Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Since the beginning of summer, a lot of moves have been made in the 2025 recruiting class and quite a few programs made some massive strides toward getting their class wrapped up before the season even starts. However, there might not be a program that made as many big waves as Tennessee did this summer on the recruiting trail.

Since the start of June, Tennessee has landed 13 commits in the class out of 23 total. It isn't just the quantity though that makes the Volunteers stand out though, it's the manner in which they won some of these recruiting battles and the caliber of players that they have landed over the last couple of months. Here is a recap of the players that have committed to Tennessee during that time period:

My son the Marine wont talk about his time in Iraq, unless he hears something , like on TV, that he can relate to or that he says is a lie about it.

Marines are still a different breed and are typically right up in/on some horrible stuff unlike the rest of our military (with exceptions) which has a philosophy of engaging enemy targets before they can even been seen or are close enough to respond.

I also think that the nature of urban warfare makes things difficult for our troops as those are typically block by block assaults with high casualties for enemy forces, higher than usual for U.S. or NATO forces and high civilian casualties.

No former 5* star transfers to boise to lose the qb competition; he went to boise to start. Hes 1 year ahead of malachi. Maddux was 110th qb of the 2022 class.
I get it. We don't know any background info so we both just pulling straws at this point. Maddux been in the program going on 3 years now and has game experience and was a starter at one point before getting hurt. That could have been the deciding factor or Nelson may be terrible.

Why do people like these? We're happy we treated kids more harshly? 🙄 I remember my stomach hurting in school bc I was hungry, man wish my kid's stomachs could hurt from hunger pains. That'll show em! Definitely help their attention and focus!
I remember my dad acting like 20 dollars of lunch money for the week was a lot 🙄

Now we wait and see if he enters the portal again or not

NIL helps, but for elite recruits, they are going to get their money, nearly anywhere they go. I'd say, basically NIL is the cost of a seat at the table, and then you need to out-recruit everyone at the table.

UT is now lauded as the University whose NIL was together before anyone else's. If recruiting was singularly NIL, then UT should have been at the top of the classes sooner.
Just cause you have it does not mean you use it to get a player if ANY other institution is willing to overpay. Just takes one. Not a chest bumping tool.

Anyone ever taken ketorolac? I got a migraine & toothache at the same time and havent taken it before. The side-effects seem a little extreme. . .

I haven't taken that. However, Albert Hofmann was searching for a cure for migraines based on ergotamine / lysergic acid when he created LSD-25. I'd recommend giving that a shot and see what happens. o_O
