Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Thank goodness for Vitello. I think Caldwell has championship potential too due to her ability to immediately sign a top 3 class in her first full signing class. Similar to Vitello. Elite recruiters. No coincidence that championships will follow.
Me too.
UT coaches in order I think most likely to win a Natty.
Tony v
K Caldwell
R Barnes
J Heupel

I only follow Football, Basketball, and Baseball,

So any others are excluded

No offense to the young man...but Carr is being selfish.

You knew exactly what Barnes expected and demanded from his players. You didn't want to RS last year and he didn't force it, instead he played you in 14 games for 60 minutes. Then you sat back and watched as DJ Jefferson left. A guy that by all accounts would do anything to still be a Vol.

And why? All your numbers were much improved, minutes over 10 minutes and just growing until the injury. And when the team really needed you because JP was already out and Bishop now out you're going to RS and then bail after the semester is over.

3 scholarships will be open in January...sure hope Barnes can pull a rabbit. This team could fade before March just from attrition.
I agree with this actually. Every situation is different but if Carr had made this decision after the injury we'd probably already have a mid-year guy lined up.

I don’t know why anyone is trying to fire Banks, offense has been the real problem. We’ve often looked totally listless out there.
I agree, where has the up-tempo offense of 2022 gone? Where are the option routes from the WRs? Where is the pre-snap motion? It's like we're running a completely different offense.

Vols played predominately 8 players in the rotation last season and went to E8 and this squad is better than last season..

That’s one of my biggest questions. I’m no Xs and Os guy so I wish someone would break it down. Do we not have the personnel? Nico can’t trust the OL enough and the WRs just aren’t that talented so it seems too much to put the blame on the QB. I hope it can be addressed.

So Cam Carr is just quitting on the team in the first month or two? Good luck with that, Cam. You just hurt your future. Now people are gonna question your commitment to basketball.

Edit: maybe I’m being a little over dramatic, but hitting the transfer portal this early in the season can't be a good look for Cam.

We overachieved this year. Lacking talent at too many position groups to win a playoff game at Ohio State.

Heup has to get the dudes and pay up. He’s got a great opportunity here in the next 3-4 years. Continued development of Nico, Faizon coming in, an elite left tackle prospect in Sanders. We have to complement them with the skill guys.
Eh, I’m not a big buyer of the “we overachieved” narrative.

Unless that means that if we fail to win 10 games next year then “we underachieved”.

Question I have, I keep seeing some of ya pining for Zachariah Branch...my question is why?

Same size as Squirrel, far less production in his 2 years at USC though.

Watch the first game vs LSU this year, you’ll quickly have your answer
