Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I know TLDR.
First time I’ve been on since Saturday. I was just to devastated with the game. Logically looking at it, OSU’s blue chip ratio is around 80-85% and ours is around 45-50%. It’s showed significantly. The sad thing is Bama and Georgia blue chip ratio are similar to OSU’s and we were not dominated by them and actually beat bama. So the question is “what happened the other night?” It could just be that we had our number 1 RB, and our number 1 & 3 WR hurt with an redshirt QB ant the helm. Along with that, I think some coaches need to be changed out and CJH needs to look in the mirror and figure out why his teams play so poorly on the road. Will CJH make changes to his staff and not hold on to coaches because they’re his buddies? Can we fill holes from the portal? Can we keep our top talent out of the portal? Is CJH our Mark Richt? How these questions are answered will determine next years potential. I’m afraid it’s a rebuilding year at best. I wish it was like the beatdown we had against Nebraska in 1997 and the team used it as motivation for next year like the 1998 team did. The biggest problem is the 1998 team was way more talented than the 2025 will be.

So left at WR we have:

WR rankings:
- #2 Concepcion, trending Bama and Colorado
- #8 Key, UGA and Ole Miss lead on On3
- #10 Branch, UGA seems to be trending
- #21 Davonte Ross, no one seems to be trending (had 142 yards against Iowa and 2 TDS)
- #23 O’mega Blake
- #24 Hudson Clement
- #27 Crutchfield

Hmmm Ross might not be a bad option for a little less money 🤔

I thought they were the team that pate was talking about having to pay to keep their players for the playoffs and was excited with that prospect

But now it seems like it was us lmao. Either way beggars can’t be choosers. We need some transfers in rather than out asap
I think that was just another “yeah no ****” Pate statement. I’d say every team in the playoffs are having to do that these days.

It’s dire but tbh if we go to Omaha again I’ll make a pledge to myself to not even bother getting angry at football (on this site) next year. **** will get really toxic beyond even my comprehension if trends hold

I’m kind of surprised we didn’t throw any offers out today tbh

He can take a redshirt if he doesn’t play. Someone probably offered a bag and playing time for him to leave now
I don’t think he can technically enter the portal in basketball until March. I guess he can just leave school, but I’m not sure how that works. Can he get paid by someone else without being in the portal?

Sounds like the staff had thought they settled any issues with him recently, but he changed his mind.

Staying in school but leaving the team is my understanding of it

Doubtful that we get a RB unless there's a surprise entry. If you look at both On3 and 247, the only high-rated RBs left are Justice Haynes and Fluff. We're not being mentioned for either. On3 has Haynes leaning SCar, and 247 has Fluff leaning Miss St. The next highest rated RB on both sites is Cam Seldon.

Ahh, I see the serious folks like Bama, UGa, and Ole Miss(lately) are already on the top talent... yet we have lost 3-4 WR's and haven't heard a peep. Maybe someone pops in the spring, but that will likely mean they found out they won't be starting, so it will more than likely be mid talent and not really good talent.

Concepcion also just took a visit to A&M fyi

And Key is almost 100% going to UGA

Absolutely NO REASON for us not to go full speed on this. Will sit back and wait and see what we do... Until the staff proves me wrong, which I HOPE they do, I just think they are still stuck in the do more with less/next man up mantra, which isn't going so well and will get worse fast.

This would be a power move and show we are serious about improving and moving forward.

Don’t worry, I @ the coaches to make them aware of him. 🤣🤣🤣

So at one point, it was thought that Nico would pull top wide receivers to play with him. Do we believe that is no longer the case?
I've asked this question many times and gotten crickets for a response... you would think elite WR's would be lining up to play in this offense and with Nico, but strangely enough, they are not.
