Recruiting Football Talk VIII

absolutely zero chance that’s true. AP I think has said the number is over 15M. Which isn’t the best but it’s not that bad.
I mean considering we’ve been told Spyre is the best in the business and, assuming these numbers are accurate for everyone else, that still puts us anywhere from 6th-8th best in the SEC. So still pretty bad.

True. But line up the programs in the SEC, with their histories, recent performance, titles, etc. Hard now to say Tennessee is better than 6th?

Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma have clearly better histories. Georgia recently passed us. So we are sitting five. LSU and UF with better recent histories. Now we are at 7…

Get used to it. But that doesn’t mean we can’t have good years, and win titles if and when we catch breaks. That’s how I’ve come to view Tennessee anyway.

I see your point, but my point is that in the new age of college football, with the NIL and all the other things that come with it (ie 10% performance fee and Spyre, etc.) that TN is supposedly doing to up the ante, we shouldn’t be sitting at 6th-8th place. Especially if that means we’re behind Florida, who’s one less sexual harassment case away from firing their coach, or A&M, who’s little brother to the crappier shade of orange team.

I’m not expecting overnight results, but if this list is true, then it’s unacceptable with all the other stuff we’ve been sold as it relates to NIL.

Good game tonight. Mtsu played a great game for about 30 minutes...I think we needed that heard in to conf play. You still gotta give this staff credit for what they do at half time.

Gainey continues to beat great compliment offensively. Lanier is crazy good. And I think millic is really good and a lot more athletic than he gets credit for.

Man I like this team.

We will never get ahead of A&M - they have untold gobs of money. Anyone who can pay a coach $80m to go away is unstoppable.

I think this next era of SEC football will be dominated by the Texas schools.

But I think we should be even with the next tier - Georgia, Florida, Alabama, etc.
