Recruiting Football Talk VIII

There’s definitely a bit of overreaction. But price saying “there’s chatter about a lot of guys” is very concerning. Especially after going 10-2 with a playoff birth and the QB’s we have on roster/committed. And Nico’s insta post…
Oh, nothing is off the table. Like I said, it's concerning. We have been insulated from some of that bc,

a) we havent been great.
b) kids wanted to come here.
c) Spyre was a trend setter.

I think if we start losing big time players, writing is on the wall with our NIL, and perhaps staff/player relationships. But, we arent the only team, wont be the last.

Not gonna lie. I'm kinda miffed at the extra practice days the team and EEs lost by making it to thr CFP and losing in the first round.
We had the absolute worst draw in the playoffs by a mile. Sht happens. I'm glad we're a playoff team.

A winning record and a bowl game. To 2 NY6 bowl wins. To the playoffs. Another milestone.

Blame my Granny and Mom, both cooked my bacon and sausage, well done, while I was growing up. Now, that's the only way I eat and cook 'em.
I remember my Dad, rest in peace, used to cook the best locally smoked sausage in a deep cast-iron skillet on a cast-iron woodstove on Christmas mornings. Mom made the biscuits. Annual tradition. Other times the oven was just to supplement the heat.

Taking on my nephew has been a challenge, and my wife's grandmother passed away Dec, 7th. Also my 21yo niece (my nephew's older sister) is struggling with early adulthood. She flunked all her college classes this semester. My wife's sister passed away in 2011, and these are her kids. She was my wife's only sibling. My mother-in-law raised them, and neither of them have any coping skills for the real world. My wife's stepfather died unexpectedly last year, and now these kids don't have a male authority figure in their lives either, so I'm somehow expected to fill that role now. This wouldn't be such a big deal, except for the fact that their black uncle was always portrayed as the family villain. Which is crazy, considering that my niece and nephew both have criminal, absentee fathers and my wife is the only woman in the family that hasn't been married and divorced multiple times. They essentially disowned my wife when she started dating me almost 30 years ago. Sorry for the rant. It's been an interesting year to say the least, and they all (mother-in-law, niece, and nephew) acted a fool yesterday at the annual Christmas breakfast that I host every year for my side of the family. They embarrassed my wife and basically ruined Christmas day.
It sounds like that family needs you as a strong character influence. You are a good man for being there for your wife and what you/she has adopted. You have what it takes to navigate these waters.

Yeah, this time of the year brings some great memories. Both my Granny and Mom have died and I miss that borderline burned sausage and bacon, especially during the holidays. Man, I would give anything to have my Mom's hot sausage balls, again. Damn, I just threw out a softball, "twss" didn't I ?
