Samoa comes to mind, lots of great players out of Pacific Island countries. Also, Oregon signed an amazing athlete who's roots are from Nigeria but he was raised in England. He's just learning the basics, Tobi Haastrup, 6'4" 235, DE runs a 10.7 100 meter. Great athlete!!

We had the absolute worst draw in the playoffs by a mile. Sht happens. I'm glad we're a playoff team.

A winning record and a bowl game. To 2 NY6 bowl wins. To the playoffs. Another milestone.

We had a redshirt freshman QB with just Brazzell and freshman skill players. Bru doesn't count because he was so banged up.

Just a horrible matchup, horrible timing with them coming off the Michigan loss to wake them up.

I just see our problems as

Nico is young and had meh receivers this year.

We should be a little worried about o-line, but I am not worried that WR U, in this offense, won't get it figured out.

Brazzell probably gets better, we have some young studs and sorry knuckledraggers.. Nico is legit.

If we can protect him next year and give him weapons then we are indeed competing for a title.

Just have to learn how to play better on the road and avoid the annual perplexing stinker.

There's no damn way Josh Heupel doesn't get the offense rolling with a guy like Nico who had the biggest nuts on the entire team last Saturday in Columbus.

I understand Gaston Moore leaving, and I think he's earned the shot to play at a mid-major program.

The problems with the WR room can be solved by.... idk... getting a higher quality WR coach

I really like that Saban retired due to NIL "leveling the playing field" but I'm really starting to hate NIL and what college sports is becoming, especially football. I didn't expect to read "Arion Carter possibly hitting the portal". I thought he was our next big time leader of our defense. And I also thought we had another Cameron Carr mid-season portal hopper, when I read the post about "Bishop Boswell coming back". I forgot he was injured and just returning from that.


I don't think anything can be done about the money being paid or tampering but a 1 time transfer has to be implemented or it's just going to keep deteriorating college sports.

This really sucks.

Yeah just use the ignore feature and choose wisely who you interact with. My parents taught me 50 years ago to be careful who you hang around. Same goes for on here. It’s basically the 80/20 rule. Just because they are loud doesn’t mean they’re the majority. I know a lot of lifetime Vol fans and don’t personally know anyone that wants to fire anybody. I also don’t tend to spend much time with people that have the maturity of a 12 year old though. It’s entertainment and somebody has to lose in every single game. By my calculations Heupel has won a lot more than he’s lost. Go Vols.

Ironic that a guy named Staes has now left two places.

Its my understanding that the portal "closes" on the 28th...BUT thats just when players can no longer ENTER the portal right? So we can still sign Thompson and maybe someone else this session at any time even after the 28th? Hype has been a good closer on portal targets in the past, as well as his most desired recruits. I think he will grab a couple he deems most important to plug holes in the roster. Most importantly, he will find a way to keep the guys we really need...which is a VERY difficult task right now with everyone throwing ridiculous money at these kids.

DUKE...DUKE just paid twice as much as we pay Nico for a pretty good QB that will never get them to an ACC championship game. Much less the playoffs. I cant wait for the Congress/whomever to get this salary cap in place. $22 million or whatever ridiculous figure it is. Dukes QB will make as much money playing college football in a crappy conference this year as i will earn in my ENTIRE LIFE...and I make decent money at low 6 figures. The insanity has to end.

I'd prefer this forum 'not' devolve into a conversation about Nico's nuts. I see the convo about the Portal as similar to conversations about game to game performance. Some will always overreact and draw long term conclusions around short-term events. I prefer the long view that says 'let it play out'. I let it play out without getting all wrapped up because Heupel has markedly improved the program.

Before I go...I'm going to say this to all those good ol Vols in understandable hurt and despair, and also to the loud mouthed, totally imbecilic Idiot Margin that want to tear apart Josh Heupel and his staff, and everything that Josh Heupel and his staff have near miraculously accomplished in far faster time than anybody with a functioning brain thought possible..

On Jan 2 1998 we had just gotten completely embarrassed 42-17 by a loaded Nebraska team that had been rolling through CFB like a combine through a field of corn for years and years.

All of us have forgotten how we felt at the moment..but deep in the night I remembered...it came back to me.

We were losing our all-everything QB, we all thought our defense had been exposed as a total soft fraud, and we were losing a few important pieces off of that defense including our all-everything 1st round draft pick defensive end.

Nobody talks about this much since then...but the future did not look bright, we all thought we had blown our shot...that we were frauds..and so did the country...but..

Twelve months and two days later...on January the 4th 1998 we stood on the top of CFB as undefeated National Champions.

We know we have a long way to go...but tearing everything apart and going nuclear toxic is completely stupid.
