I like staff that does more with less. Don't want to go back to the Pruitt and Butch days and only win in the offseason.

Just upgrade NIL if it is an issue. Keep the "do more with less" staff though. We need that, unless you can just guarantee top-2 classes, otherwise you'll just be USC, OU, or Auburn and be all over the place.

Tennessee has a few coaches on staff that seem to do less with less. Otherwise I'm with you

I'm no UNC fan but to say they've done nearly nothing since 1998 is ridiculous. 8 Final Fours, 3 national titles, and 2 national runner-ups. If that's nearly nothing I'd hate to know what you think of our accomplishments in basketball since then.

True story. They have continued to be a top program since 2000. I think they have steadily regressed over time since Coach Smith retired. He was a great coach and recruiter.Hubert Davis was a much better player than a coach...and we beat them by 19 points in Chapel Hill 2 years ago so I dont give a crap about the Tarheels.

Having lived in Charlotte for 30 years and married into a Tarheel family, you would think Michael Jordan invented the game of basketball in the 80s in Chapell Hill. We are in better shape in our basketball, football, and baseball programs than them. I wouldn't trade places or coaches with them in any of the major sports. No doubt they are historically a dominant basketball program though, and to me at least preferable to their longtime competition for most wins all time...Kentucky. I hope we see the Heels in the tournament this season so we can beat them again.

I wouldn’t say they regressed since Dean retired. Roy won more NCs in a shorter period of time than Dean did in a longer period of time.

It’s more accurate to say they’ve regressed since Roy retired. Although they still made a NC game appearance, which would bring me to tears if UT did that.

I think what we may be doing is wait, go through spring practice and figure out then what holes need to be filled. Overloading now sends a bad message to incoming recruits imo

They just don’t like being stuffed in a locker by those teams…..

Need to keep recruiting their asses off and then fill a couple rotation guys or a starter here and there with portal guys
That’s what good programs do
You can’t live and die by the portal
Top 10 classes is good enough to win a championship
Need development with those classes also
Recruiting classes 1-5 are close and 5-10 are close
One more guy from the class can make a number 10 class a 6/7 class
The top 10 is
close now

Recruit, recruit, recruit
We’re a top 10 program historically and we need to keep acting like one

I don’t wanna cheer for a portal team….
Too much drama and too big of possible fall off year to year

We have the coach to win it all
He’s also learning what it takes to be a big time contender.
What is there, 2 coaches currently who have won it all. It’s hard to do

We already are doing more with less. We are getting better results while recruiting at the same general level. Pruitt want the great recruiter so many claimed...... He recruited at the level Tennessee has recruited for the majority of the last 20 years. He just sucked as a coach and motivator.

I am so sick of how guys get attacked for dropping what may be some info. A poster I like said some things about LA Vol and he got more upset than he should and stopped posting. Others had done these attacks on him as well. I know him and he was the most legit poster ever. Now, he is gone.

I’ve always wondered…why do some care so much about what someone posts? It’s a MESSAGE BOARD. If you don’t want to believe it/read it, don’t!

This is also accurate. No argument there...but Roy was great at Kansas both as a recruiter and a coach. He was able to come win races in the car that Dean Smith built. To take nothing away from Roy though. Hall of Fame coach as good as any. I prefer Barnes to any of them to be honest. As a human being. I wish Barnes taught my Sunday School class. Bet he is great at that, too. Hope he sticks around UT long enough to win a couple Titles. He has arguably handled the transfer portal era better than anyone. We are lucky to have him
