Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I know what he meant. I agree with him.

I’m still not saying it to a dead combat vet’s loved ones. Tone deaf imo.

I get your point about time/place but I also think that it's a good opportunity for discourse on what immoral and/or illegal wars do to our nations true heroes, often with the only benefit being the lining of the pockets of a small group of warhawks.

That was cookie cutter BS with no soul or enthusiasm. That won't cut it when hyping up a game and why only 2 very brief shots of anything UT related? Quick pic of stands and a shot of orange fireworks....pretty weak for one of the all-time great SEC and College Football programs.

ABC is a fail so far (no surprise). ESPN should do a bit better generating some hype and the SECN will do a good job. Pretty pathetic by the flagship network for Disney, though.

I don't like modern country music but even that is better than the dating profile video that ABC went with that had a negative on the excitement meter. They should have bought the SEC on CBS song at least.....it's going to be weird when that plays before a Pedo State University vs Iowa game. Yuck.

Great movie. Dicaprio had another movie that same year that overshadowed it, but I think it ended up being the better movie. . . I cant remember the name of the other one.

(Edit: or maybe it wasnt better. . . the other movie was "Gangs of New York")

Hmm. . .

Gangs of New York vs Catch Me if You Can:

(Seems like most people are picking "Catch Me if You Can")
The most fascinating part is the guy behind the movie.

It was all made up. Getting the book and movie made of him was his great con. Some real meta shiz

I'm rewatching some of the games from 22.

Our defense that year...I don't think they were that bad, schematically. Lots of times that year we had the right calls, but we're just a step off from really executing at high level.

With upgrades in depth and talent, I think the defense can take a big step this season.

And while I don't expect us to have the#1 offense this year, I do think it will still be very good.

Obviously, a lot depends on Nico, but I don't look at our schedule and not think we can't beat anyone, not named UGA.

11-1 I think is the ceiling, 8-4 the absolute floor. If we beat ncsu, I think we can get rolling. Beat ou, and it could take off like it after that LSU game in 22. 🍊🤞🏼
Most reasonable ceiling and floor I've seen so far. Agree (assuming Nico stays healthy ofc)

Or just drink some water too once in a while lol. I'm terrified of kidney stones, but I'm not giving up iced tea. Started drinking a big glass of water right when I wake up and in between glasses of iced tea in the afternoon.
Just asking out of curiosity, since sweet tea is on the level of dr pepper for me, but what is in it to give people kidney issues?

My grandparents drank that stuff like it was water. Just constantly. Think my aunt and uncle still do. Always thought it was supposed to be pretty healthy minus adding sugar oneself (?)

Anyone ever taken ketorolac? I got a migraine & toothache at the same time and havent taken it before. The side-effects seem a little extreme. . .
A little late, but Toradol is a great NSAID. I wouldn't use it if I had kidney disease, or was on blood thinners, otherwise it is a pretty well regarded drug.

Happy Choose Day

August 20, 2024: I keep hearing the lyrics of an old song--pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again. It is indeed good advice for these days. Let today be a new day and a new beginning. Leave the past behind, and look with hope to the future. Isaiah 43:18-19 Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Has oxalate a chemical that helps form kidney stones.

I'm really surprised at how well it works. Usually pain medications don't do a lot for my pain. Opiates don't kill the pain for me, they just give me a buzz and distract me from the pain. I don't care about getting a buzz, just getting rid of the pain, so this seems good.

I only get headaches every couple of months. Using it every couple of months for 1-2 days should be ok?
When I take hydrocodone I don't get any buzz but it dulls the pain..oxycodone however does both, it wipes out the pain, makes me loopy, and also makes me very drowsy and lethargic..so when I was on pain management I always asked the doctor to give my hydros.

The day I quit driving is the day I go get back on pain management...no way I live in this hellish pain for no good reason other than what stupid prudish jackasses that think they know everything think they know how I should live.

It's fine. I never experienced side effects. Also, I wouldn't expect it to relieve your pain very well. I would definitely mix 400mg of ibuprofen or acetaminophen unless the ketorolac says not to and even then I probably would on a 1-off unless you have medical reasons not to. Caffeine will help, too.
Definitely do not add ibuprofen. Two anti-inflammatory medications can more than double the side effect risk.

Adding acetaminophen is not a problem. Different medication families, side effects and functional pathways.
