Recruiting Football Talk VIII

One other thought on the QR codes (not that I hope we ever have to become that desperate...but hey if it's a homerun for Ok St...others will copy):

Just think of the vast number of fans, even hardcore ones, that still don't know much about NIL...who the UT NIL clubs are...where to donate...how to donate...what the perks are...

Now every televised Ok St game the QR codes are going to be pointed out, if just for the novelty. All of a sudden the entire fanbase is going to learn about the whats and hows of donating to NiL. One quick photo of the tv and they'll be linked to their team's NiL landing page. Even if that's as far as many of them get that night, now they are fully aware and informed and discussing it.

I can see the upsides.

Happy Wednesday

August 21, 2024: When you feel lost and not yourself, be assured that this is a transitional phase. Jesus is still the King of kings and the Lord of lords, and He holds you in the hollow of His hand. Nothing in your life goes unnoticed. Never doubt God's desire and ability to bring you through every challenge. Keep the faith and stay strong. Isaiah 49:15-16 Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me.

No, he didn’t assume it was a Vol thing at all.
He just asked if I could figure it out.
Just like I asked VN for help figuring it out…
It was probably the "Tennessee Volunteers are toothless hicks that deserve to get beat by Bama, Florida and UGA forever. And also, you had your chance, the REAL UT is in the SEC now!" bumper sticker.

What'd he ever do to you?

Still disappointed you didn't get your kids interested in Tennessee.
Me too. I thought my daughter was all in for Tennessee. But a significant health issue when she was 16 changed her mind about going to school too far away. I totally understood why she chose TCU.

I would feel like a failure if my kids had chosen uf, vandy, bama, uga, or ole miss, so at least I got that going for me. They can’t stand any of those schools. 😎

I would think any scholarship reduction we have will be completely eliminated with the 20 extra a year we’re gonna start getting besides the fact nil has helped with that issue

The reduction is a lot less impactful with the addition of 20 scholarships for sure. I doubt they can retroactively increase the reduction on us because of the overall increase. They may try but I think we’d fight it.

Believe it or not: Google DeepMind recently unveiled the first AI-powered robotic table tennis player capable of competing at an amateur human level; the robot achieved a 100% win rate against beginners and 55% versus amateurs in testing, though it struggled with advanced opponents.

Finally something AI that I approve of…by the LA Olympics, the USA can field a team that can beat China in ping pong. 😂

My granddaughter is in gymnastics, she loves it no gymnastics team at Tennessee so she wants to go to LSU when she goes off to college in 10 years, big Olivia Dunne fan.

Somebody made a good point on TOS - could you imagine how much we would've raked in the night of the Bama 2022 game? 😆😅🤣

People at home would've been pausing postgame, scanning, and throwing down hundos all night after that one
It has the potential to be terrible. The goal is to win the game, not create highlight reels. When players start focusing on the highlights, winning is secondary. Particularly bad on defense, when it's about big hits rather than form tackles.

This has arguably already been an issue for 15 years because of short social media highlights.
