I have had to work on my emotional response to football for a while.

The big issue for me is I can handle a loss or bad game etc it is coming on here and getting fired up by like minded people.

I have to regulate my reading after bad games.

Which sucks cause I love it here.

Buts it’s best for me and how I want to handle things.
Totally feel that.

Did you thread that yourself?
No. I would have chosen a more Clowser type pattern. Those pinchers are a bit intimidating to a fish. In fact, ive seen fish actually get scared, and scream out loud.

I dont like tying flies that are hard to cast, and gave too much material over the hook shank. IMG_6969.jpeg
This is super easy to tie. Plastic eyes are simply plastic held over lighter and tied in. Hook weedguard is simply two super thick pieces of line, barbell lead eyes, and polar flash. (I didnt tie this), and this is a shrimp imitation.

One other thing, its fished backward like a crayfish which, swim backward and in short darts. the 'sili legs' undulate and give action.

Rises up, like a defensive position. Which, fish love. Unless they're still screaming.

This same pattern can be modified as a crab pattern.

I am trying to get into fly fishing and just got a lot of used flies i have no clue on. I might have to post some up and get your advice on what they are and when to fish them.

Nice. I would fish that. Never been much of a fisherman but my little brother was an addict. ALWAYS looking for somewhere to wet a hook. He taught me to bass fish and it is great fun...topwater with fake frogs/poppers. It really, really pisses bass off. Most violent hits and best fights i ever had in freshwater. Miss my little brother Elijah. God rest his soul.20171129_100221.jpg

Terrestrials, ants, grasshoppers, big bugs like beetles and ****. Then there's chubs, darters, and trout fry.

When I was growing up used to read the TWRA articles, and in HS/College used to seine local streams. One of the singular best ways to fish is to get an Entymology book and just learn about hatches.

There are probably 10-15 major hatches in NE TN depending on day, weather, temp. Western US, there's like 3.

I remember sitting on banks of Yellowstone Lake by a fire. The fire mustve attracted caddis. There were so many caddis they were inches thick on ground.

I live in Mt Holly NC less than a mile from the Catawba River as the crow flies. We have flies like that that hatch every year here...they will completely cover the windows of the gas station closest to my house etc when they hatch. Its crazy to see. Attracted to the lights and light coming thru the windows. The amount of food left behind after they mate and die is crazy. Guess the birds, reptiles and amphibians just eat as much as they possibly can for a couple days..flattens up the fish too i bet.

NC has a wild trout population. Watauga River, Elk Rivers. Absolutely love fishing Big Laurel in Marshall County.

My first love is smallmouth, amirite @TheBigOne10. Not making excuses, it takes $, and time. My man lives rhe good life.
