Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I’m a big bourbon guy like the rest of you, but man there’s just something about Jameson on the rocks after a stressful day that hits just right.

Jameson with a splash of ginger ale is an underrated drink as well if you wanna take a little bite off. Went to the distillery in Dublin in like 2019 and have been a fan of Jameson ever since

@Jackcrevol thought you might like these hellgrammites I tied up yesterday. Getting ready for those prespawn smallies on fly. Nothing better! This fly is like cheating and a super fun tie.View attachment 711777
That's a good one. Love the color change and pinchers. Interestingly, ive never seen one in person, only spent insects. Seen plenty of Dobson Flies.

When I was tying more used to tie a woolhead sculpin, and a bent shaft wire 2/0 or 1/0 hook with wire lead wrapped with glass shaker. Cut zonker strips up around to stop with some pearl flash, and sili legs. Barbell eyes allowed it to stand and fight, but bent shank allowed it to swim.

Dynamite for browns on move, and smallmouth.

The most dynamite 'cheater' fly ive used is Todd's Wiggle Minnow. Ive known Todd off and on for years, as he used to work at Mahoney's here in JC. Good dude.

That hellgrammite will fish.

Last time I checked Todd was running trips on a jetboat up and down the Holston in Rogersville.

I just remember that in "A River Runs Through It" there was a close-up shot of Craig Sheffer in profile and you could see his earring hole in his earlobe, which was a bit anachronistic.

How's that for a random memory?
Solid.

Speaking of Craig Sheffer. . . anyone ever seen "Night Breed"? 😂

Beautiful tie….I have goofed around with smallmough hair jigs but nothing like this.. Impressive.

Also. . . Which one would you recommend watching to someone who has never seen either of them?

Both. I'd go a River Runs Through It first. One of my favorite movies and favorite books. But Legends of the Fall is incredible. The better Pitt performance.

I got the blessing of fishing twice during the COVID years in Montana. Best fishing of my life. We were pulling in 20+ inch Rainbow and Brown trout. So fun and a gorgeous part of the country.
