Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Still a chance the new GM advises they get a new coach. I am certain several will say as much during the interview process.

That said, the Adams family needs to sell the team. If they truly loved the franchise they'd do it.
Based on what I understand is that Chad Brinker kinda is the GM

I'd be willing to bet all I have that it's in Bud's will that the franchise never is sold................But I have heard "rublings" around the baseball team ownership that a sale with the Titans has been "rumored."

who knows???

Amy Adams Strunk had the opportunity of a lifetime............and freaking blew it.

She should have cleaned house!
The HC and GM job look like "good jobs" right now......#1 pick and a new stadium right around the corner. Those jobs will never look better than they do right now.

If not clean house, leave everything the same and take another year..............but to fire just Ran is idiotic.

This proves to me it's not anyone's fault but HERS!
100 percent

Buy a high end one used. Pennies on the dollar. You can technically even reupholster but usually totally unnecessary as you can pick out a mint one. There is a glut of office furniture following remote work. I did it during Covid when all of us came home and have really too many now. If you were closer I'd give you one.

I gave $100 for each of ours. We mostly picked Steelcase Leap 2's.

The residential ones you get from staples aren't rated for office level use and wear out quickly.

@mrMet this is just an example. I am sure there may be better ones. Good brands to look for are Herman Miller, Steelcase, and Hon. Look for an 8 way adjustable as that will allow you to fully dial in preferences like: arms (up down & in out), seat (up, down, out, and tilt) lumbar and recline tension.

Watch them draft somebody terrible again to be the franchise QB. Chock full of potential I'm sure. That'll fix it....

Just a random thought, but I bet Vol Twitter could get John Adams fired if they really put their mind to it...

Don't threaten me with a good time. He is the worst. Adams is the patron saint of Negavol Incels. We could be undefeated National Champs and he would be tearing down the Coaches, team etc...while starting rumors and sowing discontent trying to undermine the next season. I would never try to get him fired, when I have to let somebody go its hard on me because I think about their families at home that have done nothing wrong and depend on the income to provide for them. Something i never take lightly...I wouldn't personally try to get Adams fired but I will be happy the day he finally shuts up and quits harming the program.

When the hell did office chairs get so expensive???

Also, does anybody have recommendations on office chairs

Yep, there is only one right answer.

And this website has 'em gently used for like 50%+ off retail. I've worked in an office my entire career (20 years now) and I've sat in about every chair you can think of.

Im not sure how that will request could be guaranteed.

The biggest trip-up is that ownership is spread through the Adams family. It's not just Amy. So they'd literally all have to agree to sell it.

See: Carolina Panthers. Who passed on NFL Rookie of the year and "sure thing" QB prospect from Ohios Taint (Texans) to draft a Bama QB thats actually smaller than I am...and i was too small to play college ball even at a D3 school. Dude is 5ft10in and 165-170lbs soaking wet. He actually played his best ball for the Panthers ever in the last couple games this season...but has been ranked at the bottom of the league since he came in for pretty much every meaningful stat. Only the Titans are as inept in the draft as the Panthers. It is truly something to behold.

On January 7, 1927, the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team played their first game, in Hinkley, Illinois. They wouldn’t play a “home game” (in Harlem, New York City) until 1968. The Globetrotters were organized as an exhibition team in their hometown of Chicago, Illinois. The original team, the so-called “Savoy Big Five,” were named after the legendary ballroom (the Savoy) where the team played games before dances. The team soon changed its name to reflect the sophisticated New York neighborhood of Harlem, more than 800 miles away!

I thought their first game was on Scooby Doo

Bryce Young actually improved in latter half of this season.

C.J. Stroud took a step back from his great Rookie Season at Houston, it happens..

All IMO, obviously

If we was fired for anything, it was to bring in someone with way more experience to handle the 1st overall pick.

The 1st overall pick is a blessing and a curse. You have to have someone that knows what they are doing. In our case, I hope it's someone that knows how to wheel and deal a lot out of it and set us up for two great drafts in a row to build a team that can be competitive for the next 5-10 years.

Ran showed some promise in SF but he was playing with house money for the most part, and had a lot of people around him that knew what they were doing.

If we just draft a QB and try to build around him via FA then the franchise is cooked for 3 years minimum.

I don't know if Callahan is the guy. I've seen some former players kind of hint at him not being the guy, which usually means the locker room feels the same.

It takes a lot to be the GM that builds the future. It takes a lot to be the coach that leads that mission on the field. It takes a lot to be the owner that oversees all of this. Unfortunately we lacked experience at all 3 of those key levels.

My thing is, if you fired Ran for inexperience you are acknowledging that the owner probably needs to go for the same reason...
