Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Honestly need to shorten practices in these cases but I know Barnes won't do that.

If Dubar was serviceable and giving us 10pts a game OR a 3&D guy who could lock down an opponent like Mashack we'd be even better AND it would save some lungs. Dubar has great length but footwork and situational intelligence seem to be lacking to be a good defender.

He was supposed to be a great shooter too but never shoots
I don't think Rick has ever been big on giving guys green lights offensively if it is going to potentially create deficiencies defensively. Even if it ends up being a net positive.

The only player he's had at Tennessee who he's remotely made an exception for was DK.

I think the ONLY way Bru comes back is if he gets his NFL draft advisory back and they tell him he will go undrafted.

If he is going to get drafted at all, I think he goes. His dream is to ultimately play in the NFL, and I hope he gets to achieve that
I feel sorry for Bru. His injury really killed him. He looked slow and not explosive at all. I highly doubt he gets drafted. Which puts us in a tight spot. As much as I like him, he just isn’t that dude anymore. We need to get younger, more explosive guys on the field.

Still pretty cool fossil in there. How do they know where to split it at? . . or do they just split every centimeter until they get a winner?
Sometimes you can see pieces of a fossil sticking out but ~what I THINK I KNOW (could be very wrong)~ I'd describe it like you have a bookmark hidden in a book. Each page is a layer in the rock. Some of those layers, like the pages, separate more easily and the in all likelihood the part of the book most likely to separate when you open it is the part with the bookmark (or inner seam - just hang with me). That fossil puts stress on the layer it's in and makes it easier to split.

Probably something learned from experience to "see" which layer will win.

I think one of the issues is this team is still gelling so to speak. A lot of transfers on this team and they are still figuring everything out.

If this happens..........I really might dust off my "Terrible Towel" and return to my youth.

Not to be "that guy" but the Titans hired Carthon and got big props from the league for hiring a black GM. But he wasn't actually the GM it turns out. Brinker was the man behind the scenes running the puppet strings the whole time. Carthon was the face and did the hiring and firing that Brinker told him to. Now I know the Titans have to hit their diversity quota in interviews, but this is probably the first time a woman has been actually interviewed for an NFL GM position. Great for her, and she's probably very capable, but if they hire her she will absolutely be just another yes man for Brinker, again. It will be a feel-good story that Amy will cheer about but any failures she will get criticized and blamed for.

And honestly if I were her I'd turn down an offer. She WILL fail because the Titans are a mess and have horrid leadership and it will look poorly on women being in GM positions in the future. She'd be better off biding her time and hoping for a better franchise with more stability.

That's why @Devo182 really needs to see the video. Prolly give him a flashback to see a fossil like that. #114,824
