Honestly need to shorten practices in these cases but I know Barnes won't do that. The biggest issue this year specifically is we thought it a good idea to leave 2 scholarships wide open.
So 11 of 13 to begin
JP out for the year, down to 10, Carr hurt & leaving, down to 9...and people are welcome to say "Barnes usually only plays 8 anyway" sure...but having the 5 other scholarship bodies in practice allows everyone to get better while also allowing each to use less energy. Don't believe me? Go run sprints with a group of 10 people one after another then do it with 5 people. You're still only running for 2 minutes but that larger group will allow each person more rest time between their sprints.
Cade, Bishop, and Mashack all being banged up and having to play through injuries is going to make the rest of the season tough. Unless they get healthy and/or Dubar starts contributing at a much higher level so we don't have to play them as much.
He's not getting drafted. Hate to say it. Lost a step since his injury. Struggled to get separation this year. Injured multiple times during his career.I think the ONLY way Bru comes back is if he gets his NFL draft advisory back and they tell him he will go undrafted.
If he is going to get drafted at all, I think he goes. His dream is to ultimately play in the NFL, and I hope he gets to achieve that
I see Bru as an UDFA especially with his past injuryI think the ONLY way Bru comes back is if he gets his NFL draft advisory back and they tell him he will go undrafted.

Webb had 6 receptions in 7 games. Nimrod had 10 receptions in 12 games. And yet we threw to Webb and nimrod instead this is my point…we’ve not used bru enough.when Hendon was here is when he played the best..after watching this season I just feel like they would much rather have him as a physical blocker but yet he’s the best WR we’ve seen in terms of yards after catch…dude doesn’t quit when he has the ball and fears nobody..we need that

Love the guy, but he will have to go undrafted and earn a spot on a roster somewhere.
Don't feed the troll, but Bru was on pace to surpass his 2022 numbers with Milton in 2023 before the injury. Dude was dominating. He lost a step after that injury. Maybe he needs another year to recover from that and increase his mobility, but him being unable to get separation and Nico being a freshman is why Bru wasn't thrown to as much.Webb had 6 receptions in 7 games. Nimrod had 10 receptions in 12 games.
Bru had 39 receptions and appeared in every game. He played far more snaps than both those guys combined. He also regularly didn’t get good separation.
But sure, we were throwing it to Webb and Nimrod, instead of Bru.
I wouldn't read too much into it. It is what happens when you shoot horribly against a very good team on the road. They were coming off a tough loss and we are a rival/#1 team in the country. I thought we still played pretty good defensively. They had just scored 100 against UK.That's it. I'm done with Vols basketball. On to Ice Hockey.
But seriously, the team could have just been 'spent' after the Arkansas game. Clearly, depth is a problem. As for Carr, still not sure why he's transferring. This would have been a perfect year for him to get some minutes and improve. Injury wasn't going to keep him out all year, right?

If Dubar was serviceable and giving us 10pts a game OR a 3&D guy who could lock down an opponent like Mashack we'd be even better AND it would save some lungs. Dubar has great length but footwork and situational intelligence seem to be lacking to be a good defender.
He was supposed to be a great shooter too but never shoots
