Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Really like it, and notable how no athlete anywhere ever says, “I’m thankful there is no God, that life arose by chance, there are no transcendent immutable truths, and everything we do and believe is ultimately meaningless. That helps me prepare and play my best!”

We keep inchin closer n closer each year, but I’m ready for Tennessee to finally take that next step and it end up being tremendous for us. Like the chips finally fall our way for a change.

I would love to finally have a complete team in which plays for a complete game and play for each other and the T on their head and not be worried about the next move.

Yeah I get it those days are mostly gone but we can still compete with these guys like we used to in the 90’s early 00’s. The brands the same, the campus is the same, the stadium is the same.

Only thing that’s changed is we went thru football purgatory for umpteen years but now we’re finally rebuilding that amazing brand with kids who don’t know our history, our story.

But by George it’s time for some good **** to finally start fallin our way for a change…… Go VOLS 🍊

This would honestly be hilarious if they did lol

Can someone convince me why many of you are rooting for osu and thus why I should? I hate them and will never forgive them for this playoffs first round game, or for losing to uga by a field goal in the cfp 2 years ago.
1st year TX in the SEC winning it all will make them unbearable. UT looks less-bad, the better OSU looks this year.

This CFB Playoff turned out to be very much like every US election these days: Choosing between a huge dooj nozzle and a huge turd sammich. If you have to pull for one of the above, it may as well be the dooj nozzle that makes UT look a bit better on the national stage.

I think we could've beat basically anyone else in the playoffs, but we got OSU at the worst possible time and place to play them. Maybe we wouldn't beat every team, but we could've given everyone else a tough game. No team was beating OSU @ OSU that night. . . similar to our game vs UGA. Hope we get a few more dudes and take everyone's lunch money next year.

You’re not wrong. But at the end of the day they whipped us. Does that not trump any consolation prize we might get?

Also, and don’t laugh, ND could beat Texas. I thought PSU would whoop them. It didn’t happen. So why couldn’t they beat Texas, who has looked mortal way more than OSU. I don’t trust ND to beat OSU as much as Texas.
IF UT had thumped OSU just as badly, would that make us bad guys? Or just doing what we were supposed to do?

I don't understand holding that against them. They did what they were supposed to do. We didn't and couldn't. Shake hands, show respect, and do better next time.

If TX thumps OSU, then it makes UT look that much more inferior to an in-conference rival we'll have to recruit against. Why on earth would we root for that extra salt in the wound? Why would we want to compound the negative effects of our loss to OSU?
