Recruiting Football Talk VIII

He got better as the year went on, presumably once he was recovered from injury.
That and he didn't have a lot of experience.

It's like people forget that almost every player improves year to year.

It's actually kinda hard to find players that don't get better over time and they tend to make their biggest jumps from underclassmen to upperclassmen.

You can almost guarantee we will have several players that aren't being talked about right now that will made huge leaps over the offseason.

He can coach run blocking. I will give him that. His OLs have been very good at run blocking. But they are subpar at pass blocking. And he has trouble recruiting. At the very least, they need to find him his own Coach Chop who can help our OL pass block, and who can help in recruiting. Go out and find a good offensive analyst like that and put him on staff, and he can mask Elarbee's deficiencies.
They did fine for Hooker. The talent recruited over the last two years should be fine.

A lot of QB's look a whole lot different if you start hacking into their stats from productive games. Hopefully it was a talent/play calling issue that slowed production in SEC play and it gets worked out. He can make any throw when he isn't hearing footsteps as soon as he steps on the field.
Absolutely, and I think the talent around him is more to blame than Nico and/or playcalling. Hopefully we get some of that worked out

Honestly, as a Titans fan, I love the idea of Deion going to Dallas. We could absolutely finesse them with that #1 pick. Deion would be lucky to win 6-7 games a year in the NFL, which would put them drafting in the top 10 in 2026 imo. As a Titans fan, how could you day no to this:

Titans receive:
-Dak Prescott
-#12 overall pick
-2026 1st round pick (likely top 10)
-2026 3rd round pick
-2027 1st round pick (also likely top 10)
-2027 6th round pick

Dallas receives:
-1st overall pick
-4th round pick
-2026 4th round pick

Titans could have Prescott and Rudolph as qb’s next year and use their top 10 pick in 2026 to get Manning or another top QB (nico or someone else who bursts onto the scene). Say Manning/Nico are projected to go before the Titans scheduled pick, we could trade our 2 2026 1st round picks to get one of the two top qb’s. Titans should use this draft in the hypothetical trade to build the OL by drafting Will Campbell or the OT from texas, as well as upgrading the wr room and grabbing another rb

Happy Choose Day! Choose to he proactive.

January 14, 2025: There are things that you have put off doing that need to be done. Now is the time to take the proverbial bull by the horns, put dread aside, and get started. Procrastination is not a good look for you. Proverbs 24:33-34 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest; so shall your poverty come like a prowler, and your need like an armed man.

Who wants old ass Dak Prescott? Those picks may be worth it though

@Ericvol2096 @jvols1999 do you know, is there a way to denote and ensure that my donations to the school and vol club go directly to football player NIL? Donations to the school can be football specific, but I don’t think NIL specific (which I find odd given our commitment to being a leader in the NIL space, though maybe it’s not odd since the university doesn’t technically direct funds to NIL or rev share at this time). Donations to vol club, I’m not aware of how to make football specific. Any help/advice would be appreciated.
It's likely a distinction without meaning, my friend, considering how that kind of thing works within large budgets. Unless enough donation $$$s are specifically directed to football, above the amount they'd planned to budget to football anyway, it doesn't effectively matter. Imagine it this way:

You are making a home budget, partially as such:

$6000/mo income

$1000/mo mortgage
$400/mo groceries
$400/mo utilities
$100/mo cable/streaming
...

Your sister loves the kids and wants to show it.

"Hey, I have $20 a month that I'd like to donate to pay for the kids' Disney subscription, but you have to promise it's going to go to the Disney subscription!
"Fair enough. I promise."

New budget:

$6020/mo income

$1000/mo mortgage
$400/mo groceries
$400/mo utilities
$100/mo cable/streaming
...

The $20/mo is paying for the Disney you'd already budgeted for, and just opens up $20/mo extra somewhere else. Your annual budget line items have to amount to at least the amount of directed fund donations annually in that line item. If so, you've met the requirement. If not, you have to give the money back or ask them to give it undirected. Effectively, if people are directing money to a line item you've already budgeted to fund, it's a distinction without meaning, except for a safeguard that the line item will be budgeted.

TN Big $$$ Donors:

Haslam Family - billionaires
Charlie Anderson - several hundred millionaire
Thornton - several hundred millionaire +
Dr Min Kao - billionaire (caveat - most if not all donations are for education)
John Tickle - 75-125 mill
Peyton Manning - 250 mill+
Randy Boyd - 100 mill+ (???)

This. Bet its true too.Its all wheel drive and electric motors make the same torque at 1RPM that they make at 10,000RPM. Instant power.

A 10hp electric golfcart will snap your head back if a buddy stomps on it when you were unprepared. A 600 or 800hp(didn't look it up for the new model), all wheel drive electric car like that Tesla has insane acceleration that gas powered vehicles just cant match from a standstill. They are heavy and dont corner that well being 4 door family sedans...but stoplight to stoplight a regular model S will blow the doors off a Mustang or Camaro etc. That plaid version is down in the 2sec flat range 0-60 and will leave Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Porsche 911 turbos in an 1/8th or 1/4 mile. They are that fast. I dont own an electric vehicle nor have any intentions to...but the Teslas are so much faster than gas powered cars its not even fair. Its an apples to oranges comparison. So weird to see something move so fast and quiet...I dont like it honestly. All you can hear is tire noise a little bit of electric motor. Anything that fast should be loud
The acceleration of a Tesla is bonkers.

I thought Tesla’s were crazy until I stepped foot into a Calvo Viper.

Titans should focus on building their trenches and sorting out a competent backup QB to teach whoever their going to draft or pickup next. The rest follows imo. When you start throwing all your hopes into one pick with no pieces you just rinse and repeat failure. Trade the #1 and wait for the Nico/Manning draft. That one will likely be a good one.

Panthers need a damn Dline now that Bryce is coming around and the oline is.making some steps.
Completely agree. Trade that No. 1 to Deion and fleece ‘em for all they got. And for goodness sakes (excuse my language), pony up and pay some superstars to stay next time.

Also, Dish Network was the Title Sponsor of the Orange and White Game for many, many years.
