Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Will Brooks was in a tie for 2nd most INTs in SEC with 4. Lead the SEC in INT return yards with 152, tied for 2nd in SEC in INT TDs with 1

2nd on team in total tackles with 59, 3rd on team with pass deflections at 5 and his 4 TFLs were highest of any secondary player on the team as well.

SEC stat rankings as a team we finished the year 5th in completion % given up 58.8%, 5th in completions given up a game with 17.2, 5th in passing yards given up per game with 189.3, tied for 2nd fewest passing TDs given up a game at 0.8

And only 3 teams threw for over 250 yards against us on the season, (all 3 were losses too) Arkansas with 297, Ohio State with 317, Georgia with 347 all 3 games were all true road games as well.

I'm not sure what your definition of terrible is, but it's wrong.
You forgot to mention we beat Alabama

That’s crazy. I remember growing up there was a lot of street racing in my area. Very rural and very little traffic so wasn’t really putting others in danger. Anyway we would all talk about who had the fastest cars. Guys would have like a 72 nova with a 400 small block and we thought it was FAST, then they would go to the track and run an 8.40 1/8th mile 🤣

Things have sure changed

Its crazy man. Electric motors are like a "cheat code". I know it will get around a road course track faster...but its gotta suck for the super rich to pull up at a stoplight in their Ferrari or Lamborghini (or at a 1/4 mile track) and get teased by the guy next to them in the same Tesla Model S that his wife gets groceries in, drops the kids off at school etc...because it will flat outrun their half million dollar exotic car in a straight line. Its also less than $100k brand new. We don't have to worry about cars going all electric though...despite the ignorant laws passed in CA mandating them, we don't have even half the power plants or electrical grid in this country for that to happen. It takes 3 or 4 decades and miles of red tape to even bring 1 new nuclear reactor online in this country too...so that's not gonna change any time soon.

It doesn’t take 3-4 decades, lots of red tape. Not 3-4 decades though.

Thanks for this research. You're on fire today! Another good post. To have 4 picks and be 2nd on the team in tackles in the SEC is amazing. The rest of his stats are really good as well. Hard to believe he didn't win the award as best walk-on player in the nation. Maybe he wasn't eligible this season?

This was the last one built in 2024 in GA.
So 1.5 decades.

Vogtle Units 3 & 4 took 15 years to build and cost $36.8 billion, more than twice the projected timeline and cost. Vogtle independent construction monitors documented that Georgia Power provided materially false cost estimates for at least ten years, falsehoods used to justify expanding Plant Vogtle.May 29, 2024

Yeah, he was a semi-finalist for the Burlsworth Trophy though.

The winner was LB Bryce Boettcher from Oregon, well deserved though. He lead their team in total tackles with 94, had 8 TFLs, 2 sacks, 1 int, 1 forced fumble, and 4 pass deflections
