Danny White is smart man because he knows what he has in his coaches..If he felt it was necessary to replace Banks, then that’s exactly what he would’ve done..He has a good track record with hiring/retaining coaches..Not to mention, the defensive stats kinda speak for themselves..I can't believe that in 2025 we're still using freaking total scoring and total defense to measure defenses in an era where pace and strength-of-schedule matter more than they ever have.
EPA / Play (SOS- + Pace-Adjusted)
1. Ohio State
2. Notre Dame
3. Tennessee (#1 against rush, #5 against the
4. Texas
5. Alabama
6. Oregon
ESPN Def. Efficiency

2. Texas
3. Ohio State
4. Tennessee
5. Mississippi
6. Penn State
This was an elite defense on the likes of teams that had far superior talent (Ohio State, Alabama, Oregon, Texas, etc.) and the best we've had in a long, long time. We had some clear weaknesses that got exposed late (slow LB and S that struggled laterally in pass coverage), but that Banks put these numbers together with a flawed unit was an absolutely masterclass. So glad he's coming back.
If you're honest you will acknowledge that we pretty easily could have dropped 2 more and gone 8-4.Could've sworn finishing 8-4 is what got you to "telling us"?? If my memory serves, I believe that I was even associated with the "idiot margin", all for saying I'd be disappointed with an 8-4 record. Am I remembering that wrong, my friend?
Yet, I totally agree...anyone bitching and bellyaching these days, about really anything Vols, **** em. I'm enjoying this ride, knowing that these are the "good ole days" of Vol sports, unlike anything we've ever seen as Big Orange fans...and, I'm alive to be a part of it.
You just had the wrong friends……What a sad childhood I had. This is not the way I remember snow angels.
