Recruiting Football Talk VIII

First word is best.

I don't know why we go out of our way to run off people with some connection who are willing to give info not fed through established mouthpieces.

As always you have to take it with a grain of salt. But people willing to give you a little extra behind the scenes, giving you info in complex scenarios can be wrong even when they are doing everything right. And we dump on them because it's not what we want to hear or things didn't break the way we wanted.

Others just want to argue.
I think it is a defense mechanism.

The idea of rev sharing evenly with one sport that brings in 100 million and the other sport loses 2-5 million a year and gets bailed out by the 100 million a year sport is interesting to say the least
Money-losing sports really need to get their biggest boosters activated. The players in those $-2 to -5 million sports are each going to owe the university a lot of money. Negative revenue “they helped produce.”

What do NFL GMs normally do that some people have implied that the Titans GM will not do?
Chad Brinker (President of Football Ops) seems to have a lot of the duties normally associated with a GM. No one’s really sure if he will relinquish those to the new guy or if the new guy will just have a diminished role.

If he comes here, hopefully he does fine, but we could have done better IMO. He fits what VQ said about us looking for a "depth piece". Still not sure why you hit the portal for a guy you hope to be your second or third option. Get the best you can and let them challenge to be RB1. Otherwise, why not just play your freshmen?
