We need to be the school that steals good SEC players off other SEC rosters, like Tony did to OM. Quit playing around

As a friend so eloquently put it, "I will never not be amused by folks — especially folks that work in sports — that think their team is never supposed to lose, particularly to a worse team … Sometimes stuff happens …"

Friend sounds like they have that beta loser mentality

What’s he referring to?
Rule changes the last few years. They supposedly were going to call the game tighter and let offenses move more. However in CBB all across the sport they're letting teams grab, hold, and be very handsy which was supposed to have gone away.

Here’s your point guards to pick from next season in the portal.

I think I’ll take Gillespie if he’s available.

Hoggard: gone
Sears: gone
Thomas: gone
Miles: gone
Perkins: gone
Krisa: gone
Pedulla: gone
Clayton: gone
Fland: pro
Sears: gone
Taylor: gone
Pegues: gone

Your last option is Jordan Pope, unless he goes pro.

Boswell and Burries

I’ll take Gillespie with Boswell as the backup.

Don’t see Burries here, imo.

You just said we have to take guys from SEC schools, but now you’re wanting to use our guys. I’m confused now.
Correct, if there's nobody worth taking, recruit stars and play them.

My main point is, I wish this school as a whole would quit signing mid major guys hoping they translate. Get guys that belong.

We were 5th they were 52nd. I don’t know where you learned math from. Oh so now it’s “some of you didn’t compete crap.” Really? You don’t know who competed in what sport based off of relplies on a message board. Get real.

This was a bad loss that should not have happened. Nothing more. We will rebound and be fine. But this particular game sucked.
Cool, bud. 52nd in KenPom is not a bad loss. There are 340+ teams. But you continue to do you. It was a quad 1 loss. No feel for advanced analytics. I didn’t even have to major in math to understand it.

Not being real is freaking out over a second loss in January when there is a long way to go.

Considering 68 teams make the tournament.

I seeee.

I’d still take him over Burries, but that’s just my opinion and it’s okay to differing ones.

Kind of hard to enforce without getting ticky tacky. I better there are more that would be upset by a tighter game than not. There are other things worth complaining about imo.

The college basketball rules committee defined the way they wanted games called a few years ago. It was to allow freedom of movement, which means you cannot hold hold, grab, or restrict by contact an offensive player’s movement, even off the ball. If an offensive player has started his motion for a shot, then any contact is a shouting foul. Additionally, defenders can’t slide under or around to take charges.

They wanted for more scoring for more exciting games. Unfortunately, it has never been called that way except for tweaking the charge call.

Well, there is some consistency to it. You can let go of some incidental and slight contact. But the grabbing off screens is not basketball. Lanier was bragged by the jersey on an inbounds play in the first half with no call. In the second half, a Vandy guy put a shoulder into Lanier on a screen.

It is a physical, but you can’t even hold in football. Don’t say you are going to that style if you don’t implement it. Just lip service.
