Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Every team has injuries throughout the season. That's an excuse, DETRIOT won last 5 or 6 games with all those injuries only team to beat them was Bills.
It’s not an excuse. At one point they had 25 guys injured. They’re by far the most injured team. They’re the only team left in the playoffs that are in the top half of the league in injuries. It was bound to catch up to them. Like I said it’s a miracle they have done as good as they did

Anytime you smell gas it should be taken seriously. I had a childhood friend that got 3rd degree burns on 80% of his body, lucky to be alive, after his roommate lit a candle to mask a smell they had not correctly identified as a gas leak and the 4 bedroom was leveled from the explosion.
If it's off and you smell it, yes. If it's on and you smell it, not necessarily. Some cities add so much smell to the gas that even when it burns it still smells.

It’s MLB’s model that keeps me from watching. All big markets dominate free agency and buy players with no salary cap.
More teams have won championships in the last ten years than the other Major sports leagues. The Yankees haven’t won in 15 years. The Mets haven’t won since 1986. The White Sox, Nationals, Royals have all won more recently than the Mets.

The Dodgers who everyone complains about has a:
1. Top 3 scouting department
2. Top 3 hitting and pitching labs
3. They have developed a Top 3 bullpen from other teams cast offs
4. They turned Max Muncy into a good 3rd baseman after he had been DFA’d
5. No one was fighting to get edman or Hernandez
6. They have also lost several talented players such as Corey Seager, and Trey Turner.
7. They are the best ran team in baseball

People should be mad at the teams that show no effort in trying to win. It’s really not that hard to build a competitive/potential championship team in baseball.

Their injuries didn't kill Detroit today. Goff killed Detroit today.

I mean he’ll Gainey missed 2 FTs late too…

Sucks Chaz couldn’t be the hero playing in front of his family & friends. Hopefully SECT he gets hot & takes us to the Final Four.

I think Barnes left ZZ on the bench to see how we handled it. Gotta have minutes where Gainey, Chaz, Shack or Bishop can handle PG duties.

Some positives, 4 of our 5 starters scored 15 or more. Our %s were all above average.

Negatives, bench play (Gainey specifically) really didn’t show up. Rebounding & defense was a poor showing.

Their defense (which is where the injuries are) allowed 45 points lol

Goff has still lead them to over 30 points
Goff personally accounted for 3 turnovers, including a pick 6. The team had 4 turnovers total since the Detroit coaching staff idiotically let a wide receiver throw a pass when Detroit was down 10 points. THAT is why Detroit lost this game.

#1 should have been they have the highest payroll in MLB.

I was ok with the Redskins but the Commanders are lame.

*I do like watching Jayden Daniels. He's been the funnest QB I've seen this season. I've got myself convinced that Nico's "game" will be similar to him this coming season.

**Detroit's gonna Detroit this game. Bless their heart.
On the first bullet point

More Nico designed runs please.

Once again, the Braves have one of the top 10 payrolls in MLB. Need to pick a different narrative..
And yet are nowhere close to the Dodgers in terms of payroll. It is what it is. The Dodgers bought a title and are hoping to do the same this season. Money well spent by them. Their owner(s) apparently have no qualms spending that money. Wish the Braves were the same, but they appear to be actively shedding payroll. But lol at suggesting the Braves payroll is anywhere close to what the Dodgers spend.
