I used to think a scholarship, room/board, access to free training and medical, all those perks, was payment enough. After all, they were students and amateurs. Then TV contracts and coaches salaries soared, schools started raking money and spending money like never before. Now I agree that the SAs deserve a good portion of that money.I'm not arguing that all of it is truly for endorsements, we all know it likely isn't. Some is, much isn't.
Either way, regardless, they had the right to be paid. Pro players can be used in the exact same way to circumvent salary caps too.
The ulterior uses of NIL don't dismiss the simple point that not allowing NIL was completely and utterly illegal. It's the reason for NIL legalization (where this discussion began). The scum ncaa and universities are now paying for it, slowly but surely. Good for the players.
The issue is pure free agency, which no other league has. Not the talent getting paid their due, which all leagues (afaik) now rightfully have.
Does anyone on VN have their own chickens? The wife wants to get a few but we have no idea what breed to get or anything? Anyone give some advice as to what are some good kinds to buy, how to care for them?

I have a few chickens that I let free-range to increase their protein intake. They instinctively return to their coop at night to roost since chickens can’t see in the dark. I only keep one rooster with the flock.
@Glitch told me he hates you and all yetis. He's racist like that. I told him not to judge all yetis by you but he said it had to be genetic. He said all Yetis are evil.

10 years in the league. 24,000 yards. 154 touchdowns. 86 career passer rating.Perennial backup who throws a ton of picks and has been benched by three different teams including the Browns in favor of dismal Dorian Thompson-Robinson?
Sounds like a Titans No. 1 overall pick to me.
I think you don’t spend one overall on a guy who nobody has wanted to start for the past 5 seasons. He has all those numbers because Tampa rolled him out every game for 5 years because they wasted a first on him.10 years in the league. 24,000 yards. 154 touchdowns. 86 career passer rating.
Either you don't know what "floor" means, or you think there are 5-10 Patrick Mahomes floating around the league every year.

It’s a pretty big commitment of time/money. It’s not cost effective. You really need to spend a minute with somebody who has done it for a bit to understand what you’re getting into. That said, they’re great. We started about 8-9 years ago with 6…we’ve had as many 30, currently have 7. We hatch birds about every year (my wife sets up an incubator for elementary school class every year). Tons of info online…backyardchickens.com might be a good place to check out.Does anyone on VN have their own chickens? The wife wants to get a few but we have no idea what breed to get or anything? Thanks a lot. We were looking at getting maybe like 3.It’s a pretty big commitment of time/money. It’s not cost effective. If you’re only getting 3 you’ll want to get really reliable layers, assuming you want them for eggs and not just cute Silkies or something. Any of the Sexlink breeds, Black Australorps, Golden Comets all excellent choices with easy temperaments that should lay an egg every day of the year. Tractor supply should have good breed options, or you can find a local breeder - great FB group called Tennessee Backyard ChickensThanks a lot. We were looking at getting maybe like 3.
