Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I trust Danny to hire a good basketball coach when time comes. Kim has been a grand slam so far.
Personally think DW will hire an uptempo bb coach as that is his track record. Hire Nate Oaks at Buffalo and now Caldwell with Lady Vols. Exciting brand of basketball sells tickets especially if winning basketball.

Ref on the line had the best view.
He had his back to the line judge that initially gave a first down spot. Deferred to the one facing the ball, whose view was blocked by Chris jones. You can’t “definitively” say he got it, but based on his body Id say it sure looks like he got there. My question for the ref is, how do you decide when you can’t see for sure how to assume the spot, in favor of making the first down or not? Tough break for the Bills.

One would think a sky cam from above would have shown it pretty clearly…

I just don't want to hear all the Pearl chatter.
Right on.

Pearl really struck me as a punk the other night. His players were punks, overreacting, fouling without being called, shaking their heads "No" at length at calls that didn't suit them, enacting all sorts of over-the-top fake-innocent pre-madonna gestures when they did foul. Pearl also seemed to have invented the basketball version of the fake injury time out.

Also, wasn't Pearl obviously trying to upstage Kim Caldwell for attention really in terribly bad taste? If Pearl's grandbaby was born in August, why trot her out exactly for Tennessee night when Caldwell's newborn son has been in the sports news?

Let's not forget the FAA having to turnaround a flight mid-air and return Pearl's team to Auburn in November because of player altercations and behavior that "could have gotten serious." Keep in mind that in the state of Alabama, accessory to murder is not "serious" when a basketball player is involved. I really actively dislike Bruce. And his son.

I saw that no sooner did the Birmingham officials swing our game to Bruce in the final couple of minutes the other night, than ESPN suddenly published a story claiming that, in their opinion, Bruce is the leading candidate for coach of the year.

I don't care if fans loved him here back in the day. I dislike him now.

And did the broadcast ever show the sky cam view?

Getting old sucks big time.

I just threw my back out because the toaster startled me.
I woke up this morning being unable to turn my head to the left. If I find out why I'll let you know.

Last week I massively pulled my groin stepping out of a duck blind when my wader boot got snagged on the door.

Maybe it was the orange blinders, but I don't recall Bruce being such a toolbag when he was here.

He was out on the court way too much during live action, at one point an official had to even run around him. I feel like his antics have been amped up being at Auburn and somehow he's given more freedom than most with stuff that would almost always get a technical for any other coach.

I still think Broome is a bit overrated. Being able to full on shove guys out of position for rebounding or body people to get blocks or layups is going to lead to good production when it's not called.

Just hope the team is feeling better for tomorrow's game. The next 3 being at home will be good for rest/recovery, especially if they play well and go 3-0. Every game should be a Quad 1 win.

I recently heard about this young adult novel in which Schrodinger's cat and Pavlov's dog team up for a cross county adventure.
So I headed on down to the library to see if they had a copy for my 10 year old daughter.

The librarian said that my description rang a bell but she wasn't sure if it was there or not.
Kind of a snooty dad joke.

I agree with all of that.
