I mean Chaz and JM can handle it while ZZ is out, but I've always thought.
Starting 5
Then a backup 1/2 guard
Backup 3/4
Backup center
Is the perfect rotation
then have a big and combo guy that only play of there is foul trouble.
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. As much as I can't stand BOT and have him/her/it on ignore, finding someone online that uses "reading comprehension" as an attack and also believes in legalizing drugs isn't exactly like finding a unicorn. There's a lot of folks online that would check those boxes. However, I'm not exactly opposed to fudging the evidence if it boots BOT.
Dubar has shown some good flashes though. He has hit some big shots for us. I think maybe if he gets a few more opportunities, his confidence will grow. Maybe I am wrong but it doesn’t seem like he takes enough shots to get going. I think a big key to the UK and other games is Gainey and Igor. Igor has got to get his mojo back. We need quality points from Gainey off the bench.ZZ, Chaz, Shack, Igor, Felix
Gainey
N/A (Dubar I think was supposed to be this guy, but he's really not been great)
Cade
Now had Carr stayed he was that backup 3/4 option because of his length. And obviously healthy JP gives you another big option that can play 4 or 5
Theoretically, because chaotic systems like hers tend to raise your ceiling and lower your floor. So you make a game like UConn winnable, but you also make yourself vulnerable to losing to 13-19 Georgia at home.
So, the question posed is, once she gets top-level talent and has less of a need to raise the ceiling of her team, will she adjust her system to make it less susceptible to upsets? I’m not advocating for it or against it, I’m just curious to see whether it happens.
lol. You keep looking like a clownYou can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

Looks like she is gonna be a high level recruiter which is always a good thing. And it seems her development skills are pretty good as well. As with the Heupel hire, White knocked it out of the park with KC. I thought he cheaped out hiring her. I was thinking offer Mulkey a ton of money. Just goes to show I know nothing when it comes to hiring a coach.Or...think about it like this how high is the floor when she's got a roster of 12 or more talent girls so when she's subbing there isn't as big of a drop off? But they all can play the chaotic system at a high level.
Women's basketball has a far smaller group of teams that can offer NIL funds and exposure. I'd say it's less than a dozen.
Men's basketball is far greater...not all of them can pay for a 5-8 man roster full of talent...but a team like BYU can afford to chase 3 guys...and you have some basketball only conferences like the Big East where their NIL priority is basketball.
I actually think Kim winning and using her style of play where 10 girls get 14+ minutes and playing in 30 plus games will be far more helpful in recruiting.
I think our offensive ability is more balanced this year and it's paid off. Last year, you had Knecht that could give you 30-40 points on any given night, but then didn't know what you would get outside of him. This year, the scoring is more spread out. We still need Chaz to stay aggressive. He's playing his best ball of the season now imo.Kentucky might blow our doors off...who knows
But I will say watching this year's team has been a treat. I've seen them not only adjust game to game, but in games. Not sure what's different. Could be Barnes just trust these guys more or the players are willing to do whatever it takes to win or the talent is higher overall.
We worked UCLA over on both ends in that game. They tried to go big and we forced Mara to guard more pick and roll action and we also sped them up with the press and traps. Result was Mara was out of gas and became a liability.
Against Wofford Chaz was hot and we just ran everything through him they never really found a way to stop it. Shack also was aggressive in taking his shots which helped keep them from being able to clog the paint or help on Chaz.
Really think one of our bigs is due for a big game. Offensively...last time any of them scored double digits was Igor going for 12 against Texas.
Exactly.
Add Estrealla and drop Dubar, and I think you have as close to the perfect rotation as one is going to get.
I know people like 10 or more because of rest, but I've always thought it hurts guys and their rhythms.
Someone brought up the LV, and while they do sub an insane amount they still have 2 Cooper and Spencer who played 30 minutes which is a ton in that system.
It's mainly the bigs that Kim constantly runs in and out.
I don't disagree, but she does a good job of keeping 2 or 3 on the court together pretty consistently. She has 5 girls that all play 20 or more minutes, lately she's been keeping Coop and Spencer in for around 30 though. But the MPG is a bit skewed as well because of trying to learn her players, big blow outs, and injuries. She also tries to stagger it so that her weaker players aren't all on the court together at once.
It's been clear that Kim's best 5 are Spencer, Spear, Whitehorn, Cooper, Spearman but you almost never see those 5 together for a long stretch.
I think you may have too much free time. lolYou can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

Agreed. It has been a treat. With Igor, we should expect double digits in scoring. He's clearly a talented offensive performer, dribbles the ball well, and can shoot the three. I like him driving to the basket.Kentucky might blow our doors off...who knows

I can’t remember specifics of what he said (I’m just a fan, not x’s & o’s person), but Pope made some comments in his post-game interview after 2nd game about how they handle our scheme. I hope our staff heard it.An analyst said it somewhere. Barnes usually struggles the first few matchups against new coaches. But once he solves the puzzle it's lock-down (Nate Oats for example). I think the only coach he's consistently struggled with is Bruce (7-9 I think) and is about .500 with Cal. I think he lost the first matchup to both Oats and Pearl before going on multi-game win streaks against both.
Barnes and Gainey will have an answer defensively and scheming ways to get the guys open looks.
That’s when he is the most dangerous imo. It he likes to shoot 3s. I mean it’s great when they drop. But I think if he could be more of a threat to drive inside, that’s better for him and also opens up the outside a little more.Agreed. It has been a treat. I'm really not trying to be negative here, but this is where I stand...... not that anyone cares.Kentucky might blow our doors off...who knows
