Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I still think OU is a better team and they have a tougher home environment to play in.

Arkansas is a tough environment to play too. Both are hostile.

I just think Arkansas is more equipped to move the ball on our defense. Mobile QB, good oline. Where as OU may have a bottom 5 oline in the conference. We match up very well, our strengths against their weaknesses. Remember this Houston team they barely beat is terrible, don’t blindly look at the logo and think Houston is a solid team. They got whooped by UNLV in week 1.

Maybe OU is better at the end of the day, but seems like brand bias atm lol

If their OL doesn’t improve, they’re gonna have an interesting game against Tulane next weekend, who should have beaten a ranked KSU team today.

From CJH postgame interview:

"Let me just say one more thing: The standard at Tennessee is to be elite on defense. This is the home of Reggie White, Al Wilson, Eric Berry."

I think we can see why this defense is performing at such a high level. I’m going to venture a guess that this has been drilled into the heads of the staff and the players all offseason that being elite on defense is expected here and mediocre play is not tolerated.

This is the type of culture that I’ve been waiting for.

Here’s the link to the interview:

Didn't realize Tyre West got banged up....what happened?
Dropped down holding his knee after making a stop. Was lined up pre-snap and then just fell and clutched his knee...

He was grinning big in a post-game photo, so hopefully it was just one of those unfortunate 'injuries' that typically happen after PATs for us...
