I don’t think that’s accurate… The big accomplishment for the SEC use to be the Sugar bowl. There is no road to the Sugar Bowl. The College World Series was considered a huge deal well before the media or fans cared about College Baseball.

at the end of the day it’s still something someone started and told you what point to reach in the season was deemed a success. I’m just saying that could drastically vary from team to team.

Simple math would say no. Seems like it would be the same as making the elite 8. The difference is basketball has a FINAL FOUR at a dedicated location each year and baseball has a World Series which includes 8 teams every year. That’s what makes each special but not the same.

I’m just tryna figure out why final 4 is the end all be all of that accomplishment. Progress is a fair answer in our case. But at the end of the day only 8 teams make the ELITE 8 which sounds like a pretty cool feat to me but it isn’t carried with the same weight with literally one game being the difference between the two.

Plus pearl is in his 60’s and would probably make a clause that his son would be hc in waiting which I think is a bad idea

It might not be realistic but I think he comes back if offered. However maybe the unrealistic part if would the AD offer him. Danny White seems to be good a identifying up and coming coaches

Would almost guarantee you it still comes down to some form of media, rather it be radio or paper.

Fair enough but I’ll say this. Bruce is nearly 60, has plenty of money, and I’ll just be blunt loves it here. I don’t think he’s ever really gotten over the way things ended here. The only way I see Auburn holding onto him if we offered even close to what they were is if they did put some silly clause in for his son. But ultimately Danny probably does go in a younger offense first coaching direction after Barnes. Seems to be his agenda.

The thing about the matchup with Houston that did scare me... While our offense had been efficient, and better of late, I don't think anyone would call it 'imposing'.

And with how Houston defends...I was worried if we could get some rhythm offensively.

I thought we'd defend better and I didn't see a beat down. But I was worried how we'd get good shots consistently.... And if we'd make our fair share of tough shots.

I think, as it turned out, Houston is probably what we'd like to be,a better version of us. We're not far off. But I think we saw clearly what our ceiling was this year.

Sucks to go out like that.

But I'm still very proud of this team this year. Had some awesome games and spectacular moments, and won a ton of games against some great competition.

And this group was special. Really enjoyed watching them.
