Pelini is underwhelming at Nebraska to me. I would take Strong or Shaw if I we're doing coaches that aren't rockstars right now.

He is solid D coach, to me the Nebraska job is like Nick Saban's Michigan St. job. Preparing for the big leagues. I was kind of letdown when Bo left. I would take him back in an instance, still fairly young as well with tons of experience.

Since I highly, highly doubt we get Gruden, I would take Strong over any candidate available. I don't think it's much of a contest. I'm not for taking another risk hire. To me, that's what Smart has become. He's a DC, and he's never had the reins of a big program. What happens at Bama goes through Saban. Smart has little say.

Agree, he knows the SEC and what it takes to win here. I think he could have the defense, even with the current personnel, producing at a high level year one. I'd be interested to see what he does on the offensive side of things, whether he would stay pro-style or more spread.

Reading 247 media updates, I'm almost tempted to draw the conclusion that Sunseri took this job under the condition that he would have full control of the defense. 247 keeps reporting that slowly, each member of the defensive staff is having more and more of a say in how the defense should be operated. Sunseri is going to the box on Saturday. Conklin was quoted saying that his role hasn't changed much, but everyone is having more of a say.

My opinion is that Sunseri has demanded control of the defense, and he's facing the harsh reality that he's not a good play-caller or defensive game-planner. He's having a hard time admitting it, and CDD is stepping in and allowing other staff members have a say.

It's either that, or he's going to straight-up be let go after the season. That would boggle my mind, though.

Actually all mods have said was that it was signed up under a different email than Sab's account. Some of their posting is the same, but, does it really matter?

He brings info, and the majority of it is accurate. No one should ever be listened to as if their info is pure gospel, just understand he's bringing a lot of info. Sometimes he may be wrong, sometimes right. But, it's info regardless

It not the losses---four of five to the Top 8 in BCS Rankings---as much as how we lost.

In 2011, it was injuries to key personnel and at key positions that had the greatest impact (on our season). This yr, serious injuries has not been a factor and there is greater depth and talent in the skilled positions.

It's about development and progress. It's about coaching and play calling. It's about being competitive. It's about playing to, if not above, your skill and talent level.

I'm not sticking up for OCI but Jesus you people are dense. OCI is not SABANOCCHIO and SABANOCCHIO is not OCI. Some of you are genuinely concerned about it. Even if they were one in the same.. Who gives a rats a**? Let it go, the mods and Freak have other things to worry about than explaining to some doofus that they are different entities. Let it go.
It doesn't matter.

Actually him contacting recruits inappropiately was the thing. He had stopped writing for a site and was still calling kids. Just check the J.Croom thread.

So he worked for a site then kept calling after he quit? That's what got everyone worked up? Doesn't seem that big a deal to me. The letter thing was a little creepy. Interviewing recruits doesn't seem so horrible, not to the extent people on here talk about him anyway.
