It would be productive to start eliminating names.. like C.Peterson from Boise, sorry fellas that just isn't going to happen. He has a great set up and he has been offered to many "better jobs" to count. David Shaw, he is not leaving Stanford. Dan Mullen and Hugh Freeze are definitely not leaving their respective programs.

A realistic percentage in terms of UT's need and the coaches interest of who could be the next head coach topping out at 60%....
C.Strong 60%
K.Smart 60%
Jon "chucky" Gruden 50%
B.Petrino 60%
W.Taggert 55%
G.Patterson 40%

Whether we like it or not I think K.Smart and C.Strong are the most likely candidates.. I think C.Strong is better.

He will bolt to UGA first chance he gets, if he turns out to be worth a darn.

Skeeter, I trust what you say more than most on here but this comes from another guy I trust. I was told if it was totally up to Hart he would hire Smart but he has to much pressure from boosters to hire a proven head coach.

Smart is a very good coach, if he wasn't Saban wouldnt keep ponying up to keep him from other schools taking him.

Now on the flip side I think he would be a bad hire here. He isnt proven as a head coach and like skeeter said, hes a UGA boy and as soon as Richt finally gets ran out or if Saban ever left, he would bolt if he were good at all here.

Uga has an outside shot of playing in the NCG this year. I don't think richt is leaving anytime soon

Low talked about UGA people mentioning to him that Richt has just about had his fill and will hang it up to go in to the ministry/missionary work in a year or two.

Like i said a few days ago, the boosters apparently think Hart has a magic wand and can just make a big time coach suddenly appear. We dont want someone like Tressel, he had a nc gifted to him by the refs with coopers players. He also went o-and whatever against sec teams. Dont know if Hart would go the Petrino route. Not sure Strong would come here. I do think Tubberville would be interested. Someone like Gruden not only demands a lot of money, he also demands a lot of control. If i were everyone, i would temper my expectations, at least that way you're setting your self up for a good surprise.

Hopefully we get a great proven coach. But on the flip side, we may end wishing that we kept Dooley for another year and get a few things taken care up on the top side so that we're more appealing to big time coaches.

If its Smart, I will support him. But hope they don't overpay for him.

I don't care what they pay a coach, this program/school just needs wins.
Kirby Smart would be an upgraded version of Dooley. At least the defense would be good, but I think it would be another situation where it will take until 2 or 3 years until we can expect wins. Waiting just is not "ok" anymore. UT needs results starting in 2013.
