JG was also our leading rusher last night. 6 carries for 30 yards.
Stats like that and TOP - UK had the ball for like 40 minutes and UT 20. Yet we found a way to win. Those things combined with halftime adjustments each game are what really make me love this coaching staff. They scheme for each game, each week...how do we win THIS game? I find that extremely encouraging for the future of this program.

Our DL is made up of nobodies...JUCO's, converted TE's, 3 stars, 4 star "busts" and yet our staff has turned them into the best unit on the team. It feels really good to have teachers, developers, real football coaches again.

When this team is full of 85 scholarship guys that our staff has recruited and developed for a couple years, the SEC better watch the F out. We will start winning like OSU and Clemson vs lesser opponents, put up 28 points in the 1st quarter and destroy the will of teams. Man, this is going to be a fun ride.

CJP has figured out how to coach/handle JG. Very impressive.
What this staff has some from a personnel management standpoint with QBs and DL is nothing short of phenomenal.

They deserve a lot of credit for it, game planning, making adjustments and developing them.

We're not world beaters by any stretch... But the difference in what we see now vs 2 months ago is drastic.

I know recruiting has taken gut punch lately... But this staff can Develop and game plan and make adjustments with the best of them.

Get the roster in order... Should be a lot of fun in the not too distant future.

This team HAS become a good team. Transformation from wk 1 to now is unbelievable and now the coaches will be out recruiting with prime examples to sell. The way the team has bonded and how CJP has grown will have a positive impact in recruiting.

I mean Tennessee good, which is competing for the east, but I know what you mean.

Tennessee is already positioned atop the middle of the SEC east. Next step, division crown. If they can carry this mojo and confidence into next season... Well, gotta finish this season.

Give credit to the players, they gutted out a win in a game where the coaches had a terrible game plan.

In general. I dont think he has warranted all the hype mainly from bass
Yeah it never felt like his peak was sustainable. I won’t say it was “luck” but most of his success was predicated by the fact he wasn’t afraid to sling the ball around.

They didn’t want to play him this year but it was forced upon them. Excited to see what he can do with a full offseason of film training and another 12 months in the weight room.

Accidentally posted this earlier in the game when I meant to post it in here.

The Golden Child Scott Frost is currently 4 and 5 with games against Wisconsin, Maryland and Iowa left. They are most likely looking at a 5 and 7 season after going 4 and 8 in Frost's first season. His best wins are against an unranked Michigan State team last season and a unranked Illinois team this season.

Maryland this season has scored 70 points in a game and has had 70 points scored on them in a game.........has that ever happened before?

Can JG be trusted to start now? I’m convinced it’s a mental issue for him. When he sees the team struggling and comes off the bench, there’s less pressure on him and plays more instinctively. When he’s the starter he feels like he has to “manage” the game which leads to bad decisions.

IMO they gotta start Maurer again against Mizzou. If he can’t get it done go to JG again. For whatever reason that’s the key to getting him to play well.

Between Maurer's reportedly poor week of practice and the way he looked in the game, it reminded me of how JG looked after the Mizzou concussion last year. Dude simply didn't look right at all during the Vandy game. Maurer looked similar, nothing like he has most of the season with some inexplicable ground balls.

If that is a thing, hopefully he comes out of the funk in time for Mizzou or at least the bowl game.

General Rule of thumb: don’t trust coaches that come from UCF or Houston. Really easy places to win games at.
