They should by right: the tie breaker would be their win over bammer head to head. Bammer should not have been in the BCS that year LSU beat them head to head. I swear if LSU had won that game, they would have changed the BCS on the spot to best 2 out of 3 and made them play again.

There's no way you can put Bama in if you have a 1 loss conference champion OU and a 1 loss conference champion OR, and a 1 loss or undefeated SEC champion. There's not room.

1. LSU/GA
2. Undefeated Conference Champion OSU
3. Undefeated Conference Champion Clemson
4. 1 Loss Conference Champion OU/OR
5. OU/OR
6. Bama.

There's no way they'd put bama in with only one good win over those conference champions. No way.

New... Yes. But teams have made it without playing for a conf title... So I can't imagine you'd all the sudden say the #1 team, with the resume LSU has, is no longer in the top 4 because they played an extra game against another top 10, at worst, team.

Totally agree. Not going to have LSU undefeated all year, lose to uga, and put bama in over them. Lsu beat them, ooc was better, beat uf. Zero case.

But these sorts of "punishing success" is why conference championships are either going to die off or become a part of the playoff.

In my ideal system, conference championships become a part of a larger playoff. All spots are automatic according to a set of rules, and nothing is left up to humans or voting.
