I believe they can and will.
That's what is going to happen, I know. I called it at halftime of our Bammer game. It was all about getting the bye week for Bammer and them not being eliminated with two losses.

It was like watching pro wrestling.

LSU should have forfeited their Bammer week and taken the bye. Like the pros sit their starters out before the playoffs.

I won't say it's a lock... But the SEC has a legit shot for 3 teams to have a shot at two spots.

UGA controls it's own destiny.

LSU is in so long as they don't lose a regular season game.

Bama at 5 provides upward mobility and tells you the committee still feels good about bama despite the loss... And since UGA and LSU play each other they're banking on those two SEC teams taking care of themselves.... At least opening up the door for bama too move up should things happen right.

Ou is tenth... That's a lot of ground to make up.

They're giving MN a punchers chance if they meet osu in the title game.

Same with Oregon and Utah.

Everyone outside the SEC is rooting for Auburn the next couple weeks.. And LSU to win the SEC.. Lol. Especially the Pac 12 teams...ou wants everyone to lose.

All this could be fixed if they would just expand the playoffs.
O, they will. $$$
Unfortunately, I think putting bammer in there again will help the moneyboys get their playoff expansion.

An expanded playoff probably will result in teams sitting out starters like the league. And hurt the bowls even more.

I understand the emotions, but put those aside. The best 4 teams should be in. If LSU wins out, logic supports Bama being the best one loss team since their only loss would be to the number one team.

Nah, OR lost to AU in the first game of the season and would thus be on a 12 game winning streak after that.
12 game winning streak over who though? I think it is wrong that a conference champion doesn't get in. They will eventually have to change it to that plus 1 or 2 deserving. And ND will have to be in a conference.

Funny how LSU was moved to #1 at the right moment, huh?
What logic does not support is the number 4 getting a bye. And the undefeated team that beat them having to play yet another top 10 team to keep from being eliminated.
What does logic support if, heaven forfend, GA were to beat LSU?

Basically, I think the fair thing would be to make make bammer forfeit their "win" to Tennessee and not be rewarded for cheating. And if a team that is not as good gets bammer's place (and they would), so be it.

Just keep asshat Nickie from retiring, so we can stomp on his face every year.

But I do not expect something fair to happen.

Also notice, putting bammer at 4 will give them a rematch with LSU with a bye and without having to beat Clemson or Ohio State for the right. So I expect exactly that.

True, but bama's best win would be AU. Not exactly impressive itself.

Put together an 8 team playoff. Five spots filled by the Power 5 conference champions. Three wildcard spots with consideration given to the best Group of 5 team.
Wouldn't be opposed, though it still may end with awkward punishments for divisional winners, conference championship game losers. May reward teams that finish 2nd place in division and avoid championship game. I think conference championships need to be a prerequisite part of the playoff itself or done away with.

The whole problem will repeat itself in the 3 wildcard selection. Are they gonna give the SEC 2 or 3 of those? Because we will have better teams sitting out than some of the vonference champions

Exactly. Bama, 2nd in division, gets a BYE essentially, while lsu and uga go beat each other up for a spot in the playoffs they likely already have. Conference championships can have disincentives in the current system. They no longer make sense.
