I hate talking about which coaches are going to be fired. It leads to people choosing which one they hate then hating them after they are not fired. And I certainly hope we don't lose 3 to 5 which means less continuity with players next year who really need some stability.

I agree.
Unfortunately, losing around 3 is perfectly normal. Assuming it's just another post made for "I remember when I told everyone [insert obvious], months ago"

I usually look at where 247 ranks 'em. But I'm a "numbers" type, a lotta posters go with their gut.

Like 247 just picks people to be the primary recruiters at random or something...and that's not who is doing the "real recruiting"

Butch recruited very good athletes and players. The problem was they didn’t always fit what we were doing here so. Take kongbo for example. He would’ve been far more productive as a 3-4 base OLB over a 4-3 end. It can go the other way too. If Barnett played in Pruitts defense he wouldn’t have been as productive. He’s strictly a dip and rip 4-3 end.

I remember saying before pruitts first year here that everyone freaks out about the transition in year one to a 3-4 bc or sunseri but our holdover roster was actually better suited for a 3-4 than what they were recruited for.

Actually posted that myself at the time. Applied most to Phillips. Wasted in the 4-3 because he didn’t fit. I thought the rest of the team around he and he and Tuttle could be coached up enough to compete year 1. I was wrong. That 2 year timeline is a thing.

I still believe we will finish with a top fifteen class which is good enough to compete in the SEC. We just need to continue developing our players to make a big jump in the 2021 cycle to compete for championships. Plus, having an elite QB can take a good team to great. And I hope that is Bailey.

Nothing I have seen indicates that. We definitely wanted Rogers. We definitely want to keep Calloway. VQ mods have been consistent that Rybka was a priority. Ox and Baron are also priorities.

Just because we are not hearing the good news that may be going on does not mean there is not any. Pruitt does not share info. The reporters just know what the recruits tell them. The next two games are going to have an affect on how this class ends up anyway. So, yeah, it is too soon to evaluate this class and whether we have momentum or not.

No, CJP doesnt think we (this board) should=needs to evaluate anything; just in case he ever were to consider the question, which he never does.

Yes, CJP and staff evaluate the team's position (we) on recruiting every f---ing morning at 7:30 sharp.

That is the coach's job and he and staff will have until the deadline to accomplish their tasks. If you are in charge of managing employees, you don't grade and punish an employee before their deadline.

As a fan, feel free to panic on your own. Sounds like a waste of energy in November. I also don't think fans need to act like a board of directors any longer either. We have the ultimate CEO in Fulmer. He knows all OUR expectations and will handle business if need be. We don't need to unnecessarily assess things and push our weight around like under previous outsider ADs. Fulmer is a VFL and he understands more than any of us will ever know.

VQ & all local media = throws crap against the wall and hopes something sticks with Pruitt & company

Barnes allows far more access than football does. Simple as that.
