UT's payout is not driving this. Pruitt liked the Liberty Bowl for recruiting. We don't need the MCB to recruit Nashville.
They take into consideration what the bowl wants, what the school wants and what the SEC wants. The SEC opinion carries weight, and the conference gets paid no matter how it divides.

Who are you leaving out for the bye? The undefeated defending champion? And who are you adding in addition to Oregon: 2-loss, beat by tied with us for SEC 5th Auburn? And who are you entered as 6th, that is, assigning the same theoretical shot to win it all as LSU or OSU? Name names.Personally, I like the idea of a 6 team playoff with the top 2 teams getting a bye that one of you all mentioned. Although, the big discussion would be who deserves to be the top 2 teams.
I think the bammer aka Birmingham aka SEC office has found a new way to screw us, in combo with some Nashville money bois. But CPF has to pick his fights since this happens everyday in every way.
How much does playing a bowl game near recruits actually affect their decisions? Do they usually attend them? Pruitt and co. can be in Memphis in a little over an hour via the UT plane, but Memphis as a bowl destination for fans absolutely sucks.
