The ceiling is like 12 at this point
I mean I’d be happy with finishing 12th at this point in the program. Don’t think that’s going to happen though. I just don’t think we can stay at this level of recruiting and expect to close the gap with our three main rivals. We’re not going to just out coach them when their coaches are just as good.

If we landed Rak and Hardy the conversation would be totally different right now. We just lost on a couple dudes we really needed to take that next step

“Next step”

That’s exactly the kind of guys we’ve whiffed on. This is a Dooley class. I wish we had a JHunter and Da’Rick up our sleeve. Skill positions are not where we need. I’m sorry, but Hodge and Smalls aren’t scaring anyone. Hyatt needs major body building. Does Lawrence play offense? I don’t know the first thing about OL... but our guys are huge so that’s a start. We need a Wanya and Wright every year to get back where we want. It can’t be every three years when we can promise a starting position right away.

This year's class very underrated by the services.

Good for quality depth with a high ceiling with the proper coaching and development.

Next year with a 9-10 win season and another year building relationships should start to pay off with the higher rated prospects.

Getting more players drafted and playing in the NFL will come.

Next year, I'm expecting a top 10 class.

For the first time in a long time, I’m not freaking out on recruiting for 2 main reasons: 1) the development of last years class as well as the emergence of upper classmen who we’ve left for dead. This staff can develop at a very high level IMO
2) the “hit” percentage off lasts years class. When you break down playing time and productivity, it was very impressive. These guys also have an eye for talent, dare say better than us.

I agree with all of you that we need higher classes, but I promise this: if we continue at this trajectory, those players will come here and that gap will be closed in no time flat. Also, FTR, I’m not impressed with what I see in Athens, I think we catch the leg humpers very quickly.

Insanely underwhelming class this cycle

Unfortunately I have to agree with you. I think the class is long on substance but not much on game changing/immediate impact talent. Luckily this staff has proven it can coach up players but it makes it a longer rebuild to get to the upper echelon.

i said this during Donnan era 'Georgia is soft'. Then, when they hired Pricht, 'Man, Georgia is soft, we own them'. When they hired Bama Bangs East, it took me a year but, ahem, 'Man, Georgia is soft'. We should refer to then as Charmin U
