That is not exactly what went down though so maybe you can have a little peace. Not much though. Saban wanted Brees but the dolphins owner wanted Culpepper. It's why it didn't work out for him and he left to go back to college. If the owner let him get Brees, Saban would probably have stayed and been very successful in the NFL. And those claiming Brees was bad with the Chargers and wouldn't be great without Payton have a fuzzy memory. He was really good with the Chargers, they moved on because his contract was up the same time he hurt his shoulder and the shoulder scared them, and the dolphins, away. And they had already drafted Rivers 2 years before. Rivers didn't sniff the field his first 2 years. That's how "bad" Brees was there. Did working with Payton help his career? Absolutely. But he was already really good before Payton and probably would've been great for almost any coach. And this is why my heart has no peace... Vols and Saints fan
Didn't get online last night. Catching up this morning I see that @nicksjuzunk & @SLICKYINC was having a hard time controlling their inner fanboy of Drew Brees last night. lol
