Per 247 composite state of Florida has 61 four star or higher players. The state of Tennessee has 11. Only 3 of the top 20 players in Florida are currently committed to the gators. However, 10 of their 12 highest rated coommits are from the state of Florida. Anybody can recruit to Florida, do not even have to leave the state for top five class.

Which is what most actually said, accompanied with he wouldn't recruit well enough to win a championship HERE.
Funny pattern that keeps emerging during story time.

Starting "all decade" team (2010-2019), Can exclude OL if ya want...

QB - Josh Dobbs (backup: Tyler Bray)
RB - Jalen Hurd, Neal, & Kamara
WR - Jennings, Calloway, Hunter & Malone
TE - Mychal Rivera, Ethan Wolf

DL - Derek Barnett, Kyle Phillips, Shy Tuttle, Corey Vereen
ILB- Daniel Bituli, AJ Johnson, JRM
OLB- Darrell Taylor, Curt Maggitt
CB- Justin Coleman
CB- Cameron Sutton
S- Brian Randolph
S- Nigel Warrior
No wonder why we have sucked this whole decade

This could get lost since tomorrow is ESD .. but it could be a fun way to pass the time until tomorrow morning.

Paul Finebaum show has been listing the Mt Rushmore of players for this decade for each SEC team. I have seen them do Vandy and USC Jr so far. Wondering who might be TN's Mt Rushmore from 2010 - 2019. Here are my choices:

Derrick Barnett
Josh Dobbs
Trey Smith
Jauan Jennings

Florida always has good players and they always will no matter who’s the coach. It was just silly for people to think a guy that brought in a ton of nfl players to miss state wouldn’t be able to get good players to Florida.

Doesn’t mean we can’t beat them at all.
I think once Pruitt has his program established we’ll be able to go toe to toe with Florida. But for anyone to pretend like Mullen isn’t an excellent coach given his history at State and what he’s doing now at UF is laughable.

I really do wonder how much impactful recruiting actually takes place the eve on signing day (whether in dec or feb). I think filps are more about revealing something cemented in the past than getting a kid to change his mind over night.

Georgia and Florida can get top 10 classes while having mediocre seasons. Tennessee can get top 10 classes almost only when we are winning lots of games.

Geography matters more than people realize
Dooley had a top 10 class early. Butch had a top 10 class in 2014 right after going 5-7. CJP had a top 10 last year after going 5-7.

Clearly we just need a new coach every 2 years and let them pull the "HI I'M NEW HERE! COME HELP US REBUILD! LOTS OF PLAYING TIME! - BRADY HOKE" card every few years to keep reeling in top 10 classes.

I know Mullin isn’t a championship coach. I don’t know about Pruitt. Give me the guy who still gives me hope.
How do you know that Mullen isn’t a championship coach? Because he didn’t win the SEC in the toughest division in CFB while he was at Mississippi State? Keep in mind Mississippi State is the worst program by a good bit historically speaking in that division.

Mullen 2
Pruitt 0

And it hasn’t even been close.
I do find that a little sad. It was closer before these 2 came along. Wouldn't trade Pruitt for Butch, but I'd gladly bring sharkhumper back. Mullen has been taking us to the woodshed so far after 4 straight games that were close.

Though I do feel both games had some serious negative variance against us. 1st game the turnovers. This year a TD right through JJ's hands and a wide open DWA missed. I know, ifs ands or buts, but still...I feel we should at least make it a game next year.

For the record I think Mullen is a tier below guys like Meyer, Saban and Swinney. He’s a guy that will have UF in that 9-11 win range pretty much every year. I’d kill to have a guy who could do that here. I do believe Pruitt will get us there once he’s established.
