This was a Hank take, he thinks every coach wants to swarm to the SEC.

Miami could be a future spot for Mario though, so Oregon needs to pony up before the Manny experiment is done.
Good point. In all seriousness though, I could see him landing at Alabama after Saban retires if he continues to build Oregon into a monster. He was on Saban's staff for a while and has taken the Bammer model out West with him.

Yeah I think bobo is going to turn things around for them unfortunately. Their defense was good this year. Bobo will tap into hilinski’s potential. They’re going to be weak at the skill positions though. Gonna heavily rely on true freshmen at running back

You seen their 2020 schedule?

Coastal Carolina
East Carolina
Missouri
@ Kentucky
@ Florida
Tennessee
BYE
A&M
@ Vandy
Georgia
@ LSU
Wofford
@ Clemson

If they ain't playing better 4-8 might happen again, they only got their this season with an upset @ Georgia...

The sec has half the premier jobs in the country and Mario is a Florida guy.

Auburn definitely. I could also see Alabama hiring him if saban were to retire. Florida too if Mullen went to nfl.
He keeps building Oregon and he will command Jimbo $$$$ in the SEC and that might be too rich for some, especially if you are the Barn having to pay a bagillion dollar buyout.

Peterson leaves Washington and USC is crumbling...you don't think Oregon would pay him as much as those schools to stay put?

You name 3 teams that are well dug in with their Head Coaches too, and paying them very well, more than most NFL teams pay.

Like I said, Miami could be that "dream job" situation, but he may well decide to stay at Oregon for the long haul once the big contract is signed. And with his recruiting for this 2020 class, that's coming soon.

Coach from Knoxville catholic talked glowingly about coach Dabo, tucker and Clemson culture.....
Said Clemson only takes certain types of guys

They also had an OC that had no clue what he was doing and were injury plagued. They got a new OC with veteran experience and a new S&C.
Now the injuries may continue because Muschamp is a moron with how he runs practice but if he stops doing full contact on fridays they’ll be better with that. They’ve got a lot of talent on the dline and at QB. That alone will win a lot of games. Schedule is pretty tough

All my friends who are die-hard Canes fans wants Mario bad and for Mario to come home. None of them are sold on Manny Diaz yet. It was a shock Miami hired Manny in the first place.

Auburn could very well come open next year and they aren’t short of money. Would it really shock anyone if gus went 6-6 next year? Idc if they extended him.

Mullen got nfl buzz last year and it’s happening again and nfl vacancies haven’t even started yet. Think of the browns. Kitchens is dead meat. Haslam is obviously comfortable bc he was ok with him being curries first choice for here. They are all in on baker mayfield and Mullen is great with QBs So that wouldn’t shock me.

Who knows when saban may retire but it could be next year. Mario was at bama for a while. Dabo isn’t leaving Clemson so Mario is probably the biggest name on the board.

I’m not saying it’s a sure thing but if one of those big 3 open up, all three are better jobs than Oregon especially with Mario being from the south. It’s not like Oregon hasn’t lost a coach to a southern power before. I think he would be at the very top of all of those lists. I know he’s not going to Vanderbilt or something.

That dude has been fired like 10 times it seems. Idk why they hired him. Just goes back to colleges killing themself trying to find a perfect “fit” and a “Miami guy” as opposed to just a damn good football coach.

One of the pre-season magazines (Lindy's or Athlons) asked several anonymous coaches this past summer "which other team cheats the most in recruiting". I expected to see Auburn or Alabama at the top of the list. It was a runaway response .. Oregon got 46% of the vote as cheating the most. Next closest was at about 15%. Guessing Cristibol really has taken the Bama recruiting style to the West coast.

Their offense has been bad since Muschamp has been there, and this will be his 3rd OC. Bobo isn't going to "fix" what's wrong there. It's the Muschamp pattern.

At Florida
7-6 "first year, but he got us to the bowl"
11-2 "second year bump from his influx of talent in recruiting (which he's very good at)"
4-8 "third year WTF moment"
6-5 "back to 500"

At USC
6-7 "first year, but he got us to a bowl"
9-4 "second year bump from new talent!"
7-6 "bowl game...next year is our year!"
4-8 "wtf..."

The only difference is USC has more patience and he benefited those first years from TN being down.

I think today we got better on both sides of the ball. But especially at the long snapper position. Punter U 4 lyfe!! But seriously, excited for all of these guys and the team's future.
