People always tagging me in the RF saying BGS ain’t this BGS AINT THAT. STFU. IM DONE PLAYING WITH YALL. YOU KNOW I ROLL WITH GV, NPP and 4nem! If I hear one more person saying BGS ain’t this I’m beating they ahhhh!!!

I don’t know how to respond to this without getting banned. Guess I’ll sit this one out.

He doesn't want to players to get paid like everyone else in society thereby throws out something that thinks solves the problem i.e. "paid via scholarship", he is only saying these things because they serve his own interest. If someone said he could only be paid in bubble gum, I'll wager a bet he would have an issue with it.

The way the schools are handling these high income sports is contrary to law, everyone knows it... politically nobody has been willing to do anything about it - that is changing.

You guys are way oversimplifying this, major changes will be coming.
So you just compared a college Scholarship and elite athletic training worth hundreds of thousands of dollars...to bubblegum..that is stupid. 🤔

Who is this everyone you speak of? You are making illogical comparisons to try and make your argument legit. Do you think top tier academic students should also be paid? Can you also source the laws that are being broken.
Good luck getting an answer that makes any sense at all from the "pay the players" crowd... it will fundamentally destroy CFB except for a very few teams.

"If the Vols finish 8-5, it means they’ll finish with the same record that Georgia finished with in 2016.

In 2017, the Bulldogs went to the College Football Playoff with a true freshman quarterback (Jake Fromm), and Jim Chaney in his second season as the Bulldogs’ offensive coordinator.

Tennessee will have a heralded true freshman quarterback in Harrison Bailey on the roster next season and they’ll have Chaney in his second season as the program’s offensive coordinator."

Well holy crap! He has a point you know...

As the old intro song of greys anatomy would say. “Nobody Knows where they might end up, nooobody knowwws”

Just for comparison, Tennessee is 7th in the SEC with 12 4⭐.

Purdue is 7th in B1G with 3 4⭐
Pitt is 7th in ACC with 2 4⭐
Texas Tech is 7th in Big 12 with 1 4⭐

We would be upper echelon in any of those other chit leagues
But we aren't and we have to play 3 or 4 of the top 10 recruiting classes every year 🤮

Ehhh..... There's also this thing called depth tho

I think depth beyond the two deep is overrated a bit. I mean it’s awesome to have 5-stars sitting on the bench ready to come in like Bama, but at the same time....it usually just means you have 5-stars sitting on the bench who end up transferring out.

Get a solid, well coached two deep, a couple of stars on both sides of the ball, and a steady QB and you can play with anyone IMO. South Carolina was legit 2011-2013 with that formula

Need 3 consecutive top 5 classes to be on Georgia's level.

Like Clemson? Look at their past classes...

Coaching, continuity, and development have a greater influence on a team than a fat asses opinion over a kids potential.

I am optimistic that we catch up to Georgia soon (quicker than Florida btw) because of their inability to cash in on their talent. After all, they’ve killed recruiting ranking since Kirby arrived, but we hear excuses for the holes in their roster. Hogwash! They suck as coaches and developers and WE WILL CATCH THEM AND WE WILL BEAT THEM!

If Harrison Bailey is who we think he is then none of these star debates matter.

We already know what we have on the OL to protect him and we all like how the defense is starting to look.

Play solid defense and protect our QB and watch how he elevates the rest of the offense and keep the defense in good spots. We have impact players at all the most important positions and star skill players will flock to play with an elite QB.

Spot on, gaines. Dobbs elevated a team that that had not been well developed. There were a handful of guys with NFL talent to go with him, but everybody else was pedestrian and undeveloped in a crappy system. They still won 9 games a couple of seasons.

If you have a highly talented QB, the guys rally behind him because they know they have a good shot to win against anybody. When you combine that with a staff that can really develop like we have now that runs an elite system, you have all you need to win at a high level.

The players know who can get it done or not. Saying you have to have 5 stars at every position is a lazy and not true narrative. The recruiting services miss on more guys than they hit. If they were all that great there would not be far more NR, 2 and 3 stars in the NFL than there are. Heart, focus, football smarts and work ethic deliver what some still refuse to call talent.

Agree completely. A lot of star gazers also don't realize that most elite recruits have matured faster and are closer to their max potential. A lot of lower rated guys are just blossoming but show potential.

You never know how 17-18 year old kids are going to develop, how they will handle school, etc.

Evaluation of potential, character and work ethic are as important as knowing how to teach them. I trust our staff to be elite in all of these areas. JJ Peterson is the only recruit they have taken that hasn't developed and I think they only took him because of a lack of options from taking the job with little time to recruit.
