Big Newt is right. I thought JG's problem was the OL and the play caller. But he looked exactly the same Saturday. The guy is not a winner. I'm sorry, but if we win 6, it's not going to be because he got us there. He might be the best we have, but I don't know how that's possible honestly. Whatever "it" is, he doesn't have it.We just need the dude to help win us 6 regular season games. That’s all I’m asking from him. Just 6.
this is kinda where i am as well. specifically on just looking the same.....agree with you.Big Newt is right. I thought JG's problem was the OL and the play caller. I hope. I just don't understand why he's a completely different person than last year. Last year he was ticked that we got whipped by Bama and this year he's treating a loss to GSU like it's no big deal. I'm so confused
at the end of the day, he is who he is, and there's probably not much that can/should be done about that. so i'd imagine the guy that is in front of the players day in and day out is the same guy....maybe a little more meausred now than in the past, but at his core, he is who he is.
if i had to guess, i'd probably wager more that he was "kick the whiteboard" guy more in the staff meetings than he might be with the players.
As “mediocre” as JG is and was against GSU, it was the defensive play that totally baffled me considering the level of competition we faced.Big Newt is right. I have no sympathy for him.kid doesn’t even read a defense before he snaps the ball.if he did his protection changes would be there or changing the play in general would probably help a lot.this Oline maybe bad but if a blitz is coming, the Oline can only hold for so long.other teams literally load the box because they know he won’t throw past the 10 yard marker.we have no balance in our play calling because he won’t throw down field nor does he really scramble out of a collapsing pocket to extend the play.
Washington became good again when they hired a legit, proven head coach. Weird how that happenedGot to thinking...can we come back from 15 yr slide? Are there any major programs that suffered similar droughts. Heres what I have:
Tx A&M (2002 - 2010): Posted two 4-8 seasons and one 5-6 campaign. Missed bowl games in 4 seasons.
USC (1996 - 2000): only one bowl appearance. One 5-7 season. Three 6 win seasons.
LSU (1989 - 1995): One 2-9 season, Two 4-7 years. Three 5-6 seasons. One bowl apperance.
Clemson (1993 - 1998): one 3-8 year. One 5-6 year. Two 7-5 seasons.
Or we may just end up turning into Minnesota or Colorado.
