I don't work at a university, but at a non-profit doing genetic research with PIs. That's universal. I even had one tell me "it's part of our job as a scientist to not believe in rules. If we all followed the rules, how would we innovate." Being in legal and compliance, I just stare blankly and shake my head.

If you’re a man who drives a Prius, you are not a man. Then it is acceptable because the only thing less manly than driving a Prius is having your wife drive you around in a Prius. But still, but a bigger truck. Don’t drive a Prius.

Second, people who describe their life circumstances as a “journey” are the worst. You’re not on a journey. A journey is traveling a great distance. If you go and visit a foreign country and go hiking through the jungle, that’s a journey. Losing weight is not a journey. You didn’t go anywhere. You just stopped sitting on the couch and eating Cheetos. That isn’t a journey, that’s just not being fat and lazy.
