Love the wild game discussion. Ate wood duck tonight, gadwall last night. I have tons of venison and a raccoon in the freezer. Recently smoked an entire deer ham (pic included). I recommend korean beef with ground venison.
tell me about this raccoon....what does that taste like? I am not that adventurous.

I did a quick google search Gallery: Down South: How to Cook a Raccoon

I was today years old when I found out people ate raccoons.

I have watched zero baseball this year and have no context, but how is it ever wrong to steal another team's signs? If you can figure it out, why is that wrong?

They used cameras and had a live feed to a coach who called when the fast ball signal was given by the catcher.

Cheating just like the patriots being wired in the other teams headphones...

While the officiating was bad once again, I feel bad for Barnes. This team has a lot to learn. We are consistently a turnover machine.

Also, why did Jalen Johnson play so many minutes tonight? Did I miss someone being in foul trouble, or was there a match-up issue? He was a total liability on offense tonight.

Unless it wasn’t obvious already, our team’s overall defense is pretty good. Vescovi, on the other hand, is just not good at defending. Ball-you-man is not a concept to him.
No min for Gaines that I saw either. I think he could have helped last night.

Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh....

It’s definitely one of my favorites. Family lights up when they know it’s goulash night. Made a double batch of chili Monday too. Got 7 containers to work through my lunches now 😎
I don't know what goulash is. It's probably great. But it sounds like something you feed the prize pigs on the farm. The others get slop, but ol' Betsy won a blue ribbon, she's gettin the goulash.

Interesting! I'm borderline obsessed with deer hunting and love the meat, wife and kids are a different story outside of chili. What is the method/recipe in the Instapot?

soak in buttermilk overnight and then season with whatever you like. ( I use a beef rub from Sucklebusters on all my deer meat just about) sear both sides for a minute or so and then cook on high pressure for 5 minutes and a slow release for 5 minuets. I used 1 cup of beef broth for liquid

We may need to have a VN cooking/recipe forum. Because I am hearing about a lot of food that I have not encountered in my 40+ years.

Was over last night's game...then I see that the guy who took the go ahead 3 walked to do it.

I mean come on refs, how do you let him take that many steps?

I know the FF is crazy, but the basketball one is getting that way too. I’m losing faith in going anywhere beyond this place.

Yep. I spend probably 90% of my time here and the rest split between the Titans and Reds threads, which are far less visited. I gave up on the FF and B-ball forums long ago. They provide disappointing views of humanity.

Raccoon used to be a delicacy in the South. It used to be the common Thanksgiving dish in many parts.

A fun fact: a Mississippi woman sent a live raccoon as a Thanksgiving gift to President Coolidge, but he pardoned it and kept it as a White House pet.

I haven't eaten raccoon, yet. This will be my first try, but I do know it is imperative to remove the scent glands and lymph nodes. All my neighbors swear by raccoon, and have begged me for them when I trap one.

Jedd Clampett said, “ The best thing about opossum is it tastes just as good on the next day.”
I assume the same is true for raccoon.

Raccoons are far too cute to eat. They have opposable thumbs for crying out loud. My granddad used to coon hunt like a mad man and I've read Where the Red Fern Grows but damn I love those smart little dudes.
