This makes a lot of sense. At some point I'm sure some of the more intelligent humans realized that having semi-tame wolves around was beneficial, stopped chucking wooden spears at them and encouraged them to stick around....and then trained them to attack people who annoyed them like Chief.
Haha yep. And it was basically like 5 breeds for thousands of years then in the 1800s people realized you can make almost unlimited different breeds. In Russia they've been experimenting with breeding wild foxes that show that trait of affection toward humans and in just a couple generations they're basically dogs. The interesting thing is, in just breeding for that one behavior trait, those domestic foxes started having more white patches in their fur and more of a curved tail. Which is similar to what happens breeding hogs into domestic pigs.

Some people prefer dogs outside....they're animals, but they are members of the family as well.

I mean, they have lived outside since the species has existed, but we humans get these wierd ideas in our heads, and act like it is abuse to leave them outside.

Don't get me wrong, I have a dog who spends most of his time inside, but really?!

Obviously, some breeds would have issues with living outdoors, but most can do just fine with proper amenities. They really ARE NOT little humans. Get over it.

(Edit: Not disagreeing with you, titansvolsfaninga.)

Damn white devils always with the gentrification. That is fascinating though.

Crazy mouse story. When I first moved back to FL I was renting a double wide that had been vacant a while. My master bedroom had a bathroom/walk-in closet combo. The bathtub/shower backed up to the closet wall and the plumbing access was in that wall.

I kept hearing what sounded like a mouse in that wall so I took off the wall panel to take a look. I couldn't see much because of the small space and the tub only being about 6 inches off the floor but I did notice some old rat poison traps.

I started poking around under there with a broom handle and felt something so I knocked it/dragged it to where I could see. Thought it was a big dead rat at first but as it got closer I saw it was a bag like you would store an air mattress in.

I pulled it out and it was nasty and damp but when I opened it I pulled out a bag of old dried up pot, a couple bags of capsules with clear powder in them and then 2 HUGE baggies....one was this crystalized honeycomb looking stuff but the other was a couple pounds(kilos) of yellow goopy cocaine paste.

I later found out that the former owner was a drug dealer that went to prison for murder a few years prior and had stashed a bunch of stuff there.

I know, TLDR but one of the craziest things I've ever had happen.

Made the decision today to allow surgery on my 14 year old chihuaha. Acts perfectly healthy but stopped eating for 2 days. Almost had her put down on Saturday but my daughter’s boyfriend had some Whataburger and she went after the fries. Now able to get the occasional chicken nugget down. Needs to close up a bad hernia and remove a small obstruction. Nerve wracking worrying about her making it through surgery but she’s my little princess and I can’t watch her starve to death if there’s a chance. Pray I’m making the right decision and lucky to have a wife that backs me.

Enough of me. Feeling for you. Vital part of your life to lose. Stay strong and comfort yourself that you were her good human and made her life better.

Today has been a tough day VN. The time finally came for my childhood pup to pass on. She almost made it to 17 years old. I’m 26, and have never lived too far from home, so we really did grow up together. She will always hold a special place with me because of that. Even though she had some arthritis and couldn’t see or hear very well these last few years, she’d still work her way up stairs to nap in my room whether I was home or away. And wood floors too that’s no easy feat for any old dog paws!

I’m going to miss that pup dearly. Give y’alls pets some extra love and treats for me tonight!

And then what happened?
