Pruitt said he would have liked that to come out on the 5th step. Not the 7th.

With that wording only the coaches know if the drop was correct, i will say though that a QB who can reads the defense presnap would understand the coverage and know to shorten his drop. Cedric was open the second the linebackers bit on the play action.

I know it's a different animal and Nashville has a lot of UGA people, but UGA totally took over Vandy, downtown Nashville tourist district, and midtown when they played the Dores. Ticket demand in Athens is so high that it is much less expensive for many UGA fans to pay scalper prices of 3x-4x face value for away games than to try and get into a home game.
They totally took over Notre Dame last year, too. We must keep them out!

Finally got around to watching the parts of the utc game I missed on Saturday. I don’t think our OL looked nearly as good as they did vs BYU. The change of positions/players doesn’t excite me after watching it closely. The run game wasn’t as good as it needs to be and I thought I was very good vs BYU
Run blocking has been weird so far. Our TEs have been our best blockers, especially Pope. DWA too. Ryan Johnson and Locklear have done well too. Wright, Wanya, and Kennedy have been poor in that area.

Last time we were in the swamp. Kelly went beast mode. Moral of the story smack this defense in the mouth and they'll fold. Ty, you're up kid.

Man he was a blast to watch. Those stiff arms, him jumping around, and legs always churning like a roadrunner.

Wish JK could teach these young guys his "jump hop right as the leg tackle comes" move. Ty and Gray could break some homeruns if they could learn that.

I’m disappointed in JJ Peterson. Jeremy Banks spent plenty of time last year at running back and seems to be ahead of Peterson at the linebacker position. I know Peterson has had injury issues since he’s been on campus but I figured a year under our S&C program would do him fine. It seems like he won’t reach the potential his offer list portrayed but it is still a bit early to tell.

Yep

Didn’t come in ready. He’s had some injuries too. Seeing Henry T. shine early shows the difference in mindset.

Anytime a player comes in that out of shape it’s a huge red flag.

I agree with this. Everyone thought, including the team, that it was impossible for GA St to leave Neyland with a win. Why is it so inconceivable that we leave Florida with a win. Georgia and Bama ok. I'll give you those. I really haven't seen much from Florida that scares me. JMO

Can we play clean football? We haven’t so far. We still had issues lining up correctly against Chattanooga.

There’s nothing about Florida that should scare a good team, but we’re not a good team.

Did I hear correctly on the VQ podcast that the TD pass to Tillman was supposed to be a 3 step drop when JG took 5 steps? How TF are you still making that mistake in your 4th year. I would think that should be committed to muscle memory where you do it without thinking.
VQ guys screwed that comment up. It was actually from a CJP statement during his coaches TV show. Pruitt said "We should probably run that play on a 5 step drop instead of 7 to get the pass off quicker". He didn't say if "JG ran the play wrong" or "the play design was wrong".

Don't think smokeyz1 misquoted on purpose but the truth is in between the two. Here it is, word for word.

"Was a good route by Ced [but] we got to be a little quicker at quarterback here. Throw it on the 5th step instead of the 7th step."

No doubt. The second I heard that in training camp I had a bad feeling

Yea plus the fact that banks plays over him while basically having no clue how to play the position is even bigger of a red flag. Hopefully he can at least turn into to a good special teams player and rotational guy.

What do you mean?
You think having to finish his work and pass his exam and wait on the grade wasn't true?

The timeline and lack of concrete information was odd. Didn’t really align with typical “maybe not qualifying guys”. But who knows. He’s here and not making any kind of impact on maybe our thinnest worst LB group in recent memory. Disappointing to say the least.
