We just weren’t aware of it. We’d find out from KNS what that year’s haul was and look at the top 200 lists to contrast/compare. Always grabbed the USA Today the day after NSD to see who our epic players were in the class and of course the next Sporting News.

I understand what you say, but we seem to start beyond the Tn borders and work our way in. I know Butch seemed to go overboard, but I think it was a reaction to the disaster that was the Duls effort in Tn and close around. Just wish we could see a little more coverage about Tn guys. Get a little tired of seeing Ga and Fla guys every damn day. I know I miss a lot of recruit news, but I don't remember seeing where some very high profile players at other schools were ever offered by TN, that is until some announcer says "this guy is from TN" and how good he is and implies or wonders how Tn missed on him or something to that effect. Gets old.....

Yeah, it gets old because players like to go out of state, and every team has players from another state. Last year we got a lot of really good players from Tennessee. We also got a lot of really good players from other states. This year there are not many good players from Tennessee, and the few good ones are not interested in playing for the home state. Cry about it, or go get better players from other states? Pruitt is doing the latter. Next year recruits from Tennessee won't take that offer for granted.

True, some are not good enough, but how bout the many over the years that go to other schools and are successful? Yes, there are some who just want to go elsewhere, but you could still offer AND that offer be shown on this site.... You never know, if you don't offer, then you damn sure won't get'um.

Peyton Manning and Al Wilson were from other states. Get the best players you can to help you win championships. All you need to worry about is getting the best available players that want to play for you.

Oh the preseason magazines! Bought every one of them! Mom was always babbling about “why are you buying all these? They all say the same thing! You don’t even have a family when these come out!” Or something to that effect...wasn’t really paying attention. #Priorities

Do you have proof to back that up? Not saying it didn't happen as we know Fulmer recruited out of his mind. Would just like to see how these 5 days stacked up to a time in history that may have been better.

Either way what is happening now hasn't happened in 12+ years. Amazing times..... Amazing week.

But if you go back and look at those classes you group three of four of them together (which likely happened on NSD or in camp) and they’re just as good as this week and many of them are better.

Hard to argue that. Fulmer was such a closer in recruiting. Can't really tell how good a class is until 2-3 years down the road anyway. But man we are in the midst of some exciting times.
