JJP has been such a disappointment. This should have been the year where he was ready to take over as an elite player. But alas, that has yet to happen. maybe it will, but I'd be stunned if he didn't show up out of shape like he's been sitting at home eating Cheetos and little Debbies.

In before all the folks jump on and start defending how young he still is and how much time many of the elite kids take to turn into elite players... I'm with you, I am hoping being in Pruitt's system long enough and seeing the competition coming in, it will finally motivate this kid to step up and be the player he has the tools to be... but I think at this point, unless he surprises us all and comes in on fire, he's gonna be Bates 2.0

My son and I played Friday with a couple. She was a new golf and a little slow. He had one of the pro caddie note books that you see on tour.
He would consult it before every shot. It would take as long as the tour pros for every shot and putt. However, the results were no where near the same. His score and my score were pretty much the same on every hole (except on the holes that I made par, he never did). My son was losing patience and wouldn’t have played the back nine if they did.

I am not a great golfer by any stretch of the imagination. But pace of play is important. I can’t stand the average to below average golfer who slow plays every shot like they are at Augusta. Or plays from the back couple sets of tees and hardly ever hits past the ladies tees.
On the back 9, we caught the group in front of us, but couldn’t play through due to a foursome ahead. They would wait to tee off until the group ahead was on the green, then hit under 200 yards off the tee.
Thought my son was going to lose it ( he takes after his Mom in the lack of patience department) I kept laughing at him and enjoyed not being at work. The weather was great.
Maybe it did bug me...end rant//
Why can people not just enjoy being outside on a beautiful day? I very rarely even take a practice swing because my back is so bad I only have so many swings in me, but I hate rushing through a game, and feeling like I am being rushed.

I think covid killed his chances. Hope like heck I'm wrong

My realistic dream finish. Mine almost never end up being close, especially this early, but here it goes...

QB - JT DANIELS
OL - Smith, Mims, Pennington
WR - Mosley, Merrill, Marley
RB - Brown, Evans
TE - Montavao, Bell
TE/WR - Nixon
RB/Slot - Wright

DL - Evans, Ingrams-Dawkins, Washington, Jackson
OLB - Brooks and one of either Smael Mondon, Jeremiah Williams, Keanu Koht, Naquon Brown, or Junior Colson
ILB - Lewis, Willis
DB - Wilcoxson, Rucker, and 2 of Terrion Arnold, Howard, or White

I'd only hope for one change on this list....

Well, I guess the good news is that, unlike the past 5-6 years, we finally actually have several good options and talent that CAN step up/step in... I can remember not too long ago we were one injury away from going from starter to the equivalent of walk-on... at least we have talent around the LB position, which is great.

i think you can do both. i pretty much agree wiht the OP. pace of play is important. cause it's not just you out on the course.....so if for no other reason, just have some common sense and common courtesy for the other players on the course.

my rule of thumb is if you are keeping up tihe the group in front of you, and the group in front of you is keeping up with the group in front of them, fine. but like he said above, waiting until the group in front reaches the greeen to tee off? nah. that's bs.

and the other side of the coin: if that's the worst thing that's happening to you at hte moment...you're sitll winning. #1stworldproblems.

Time to vent.

First, we have a tornado hit us exactly two months ago, then a stupid overreaction to a virus that has shut things down and generally made life difficult, and now we have trees down all over our city. Another challenge to overcome, but dammit I’m tired.

Pray for me. I’m frustrated and done with it.
I feel you..this year is just one big pile of crap after another. My frustration level is at 11 also.

I’d like to see us land Daniels in a bad way, but I doubt we take him at the expense of Salter.
I don’t think it would. In interviews the kid is amenable to waiting his turn and would be an ideal redshirt candidate. A year immersed in fine tuning his passing acumen and reading coverages would make him downright scary imo.

TIFWIW, Z Evans would wanna jump on this train now more so than he ever did want to before. Ain’t nobody truly wanting to go to that dumpster fire in Gainesville.....other than the hookers that he’ll get at Ole Piss, I just dunno what he’s waiting on. Maybe he wants a day all to himself.

With the way we are reeling them in that ship has sailed.
