Sure. But we should be gunning for Top 5 classes, not Top 10. Imo.

I’d be fine with no #1 classes if we landed #2 or #3 ranked classes every year.

Point is it’s easier to absorb a #8 or #9 if you’ve got some #1’s mixed in. All I’m saying.

#1 should always be the goal. 1-5 seems to be where you are loading up on difference makers all over the field. Not too much difference in 6-10, just fewer of those All American calibur guys. 11-20 you are still getting good players but you better have a stud QB and excellent coaching.

No excuse for Tennessee under Jeremy Pruitt to be recruiting in the teens...

8th or 9th should be the “depth” class rankings.

I never said I wasnt a troll. I'm a Tennessee fan. Ask @OGbabyaviVol and @SSVol who have met me. But I'm definitely a troll. @Sugaray13 too. lol
I think he's a gator fan pulling off an elaborate troll. He was able to manipulate and fool those mentioned above but he took off before I got to the gathering. He knew I would catch on to his act so he bailed. Definite gator troll.

Back to having nice things.........translate to the field this year.

Coaches are currently killing it.

I like having nice things again at TENNESSEE.

Should be a fun signing day this class, and hopefully there will still be early signing period in December and we get as many of these kids on campus in January.

I'm hoping for fall football. But I would rather have spring football and early sign a top 3ish class than have fall football, underperform because of bad QB play and lose a lot of top recruits.

Of course, have fall football and get good QB play and go 10-2 while signing a top 3ish class would be best case scenario if fans can attend.

Jesse being the same tool he's always been. Couldn't say we landed a 4 star and recruit and say something good about the kid...had to throw in something about UT missing out on all their targets before him and "settling" for him.
VQ subscribers need to let Brent know that tool is costing him money.

Folks need to pay attention to what the VOLS are doing. Yes, we are getting recruits, but it’s the type of recruits we are getting.

Pruitt is building a National Contender Defense. Gap fillers inside, Edge rushers with speed and more speed behind them.

These are the kind of kids we used to get in the 90s. Size with nasty SPEED.!!

Damn feels good to be a VOL

I just hate that I can only give this one like.

What a GREAT day!! The Vols continuing to get studs and my wife & I going to the hospital any minute now for the birth of our first child, a son. Jackson Pierce Turner.....named after the great Andrew Jackson, aka “Old Hickory”. A true Tennessean.
Congratulations!!

I am also very relieved you are not wearing socks with your sandals.

So here’s my take on this. If you start to build a house, you lay the foundation, put on roof, then start to install plumbing, electrical, gas service lines, etc.

I’m not saying Pruitt wouldn’t leave to go elsewhere, that’s just the nature of the beast. BUT, in my opinion, why would you wanna leave a school that has a rich tradition, can recruit with anyone in the country, you have a AD that BLEEDS orange, and a fan base that is bat **** crazy about the VOLS, and if given a little bit of time can return to a national powerhouse. And he can win TITLES here. He’s in a great situation and his family loves Knoxville. He could have waited out and went back to Bama as a assistant and then became a Head coach in waiting. Instead, he came to TN. He knew, with a couple good recruiting classes he could awake the monster that is TENNESSEE FOOTBALL. And make no mistake, TN belongs with the Elite.

And yes, I know he has Bama blood. I get that. But it’s gonna be awfully hard to follow in Sabans footsteps. Doesn’t matter who comes in after Saban, living up to those standards is gonna be hard for anyone. Saban is one of the best coaches of all time. Period.

There is also different personnel in charge at UT now. As long as Phil is in Charge, he will throw his weight around, no pun intended. People listen to Phil, he demands excellence and won’t settle for anything less. When he walks into any complex on campus, people pay attention to him, they know that he is Mr. Vol. He demands respect and gets it.

For the record, Phil really likes Pruitt. They have a strong bond and Phil knows the program is in good hands.

So for people that still say, “Pruitt is a Bama guy”, yes he is, but he’s also a VOL, and a think will be for a long time. If we start to win and win consistently, UT will pony up and pay him. And I don’t have any doubts that UT is gonna win and win big in the near future.

This class is going to change the VOLS. Better buckle up cause it’s just gonna get more crazy in the next few months.

Btw, got two that will 💥 soon. Stay tuned.

Y’all have a great week.
two things, there are plenty of "bama" guys that have coached and done well and didn't have to go back. some that did, regret it.

i think if we're to the point where Bama does come calling, that means something good for TN, at least in terms of where the program would be vs. has been.

secondly i also agree with you on the opportunity here....by the time we get to that point, pruitt would have a lot of 'sweat equity' in the program to go a long with any financial opportunities.

and i'm not sure that sweat equity isn't the deal breaker in the end. we get where we want to go, there'll be no doubt who's program this is. so, do you want stay and tend to this thing you built? or go be the care taker for Nick's program?

i don't think Money will be an issue, as you said. everybody's got money nowadays.

something i was thinking about yesterday as we moved to 21 commits, and the topic of attrition continues to be a thing, and likely will be until it's not.

we took several early committments from guys that most of us kinda shook our head at and immediately correlate some of those to a kid like Roman Harrison or the WR that ultimatley wound up at FSU in the first cycle.....

i have taken a little different thought process to it though as i've now seen what's come the past 10 dyas or so.

i think taking some of those early committments was, in some cases maybe, a strategy to help bridge the gap during the shut downs. no on campus camps, no all star camps etc....so how can a kid that no one's heard of get heard of in this environment?

well, i give you TN recruiting. we talk about the pruitt bump right....well, it has happened, and we've all see how often we offer a kid and literally w/in a week, some of our main competitors offer. point being...an offer from Pruitt and co. puts eyes on a kid that otherwise may have not been rated, or evaluated, by a recruiting service, or by other programs.

so i wouldn't be surprised if some of the offers we've made weren't made simply for that reason. that there was an understanding between the recruit and us that "hey, we do like you as a prospect, and we'll take your committment (for all these reasons), but definitely keep your options open....we can't gurantee you'll have a spot, but use this time to get noticed, take your phone calls and we'll see what happens at hte end of the road"

i think that may also help explain why there's a lot of "good will" it seems amongst prospects right now. and i wouldn't really be surprised to find out this isn't the first time we've done something like that....just might be a little more pronounced right now simply because of covid shutting the off season camps down.

or im fos.
