I’d look at Taulia to Miami. Tua lives there now and Enos is the OC at Miami.

Miami also just got King, if Taulia has to sit a year it's a very good landing spot. Since King is a 1 year guy and Jarren Williams bailed. Plus his brother being a Dolphin allows the family to travel a bit less when both play there.

With the current momentum and # of prospects interested, I bet the staff is regretting taking some of the early commitments.

So with the spots left, we looking at 1 DE, 1 TE, 1 LB, 1 OL?

Other fanbases have be grilling out Avg rankings. Looking at 247 the only schools that are significantly higher than us is LSU, Bama, and UGA. I normally don't care that much about rankings, but I can't wait for Rivals to update so we get multiple bumps and don't have to hear that crap anymore.

So here’s my take on this. If you start to build a house, you lay the foundation, put on roof, then start to install plumbing, electrical, gas service lines, etc.

I’m not saying Pruitt wouldn’t leave to go elsewhere, that’s just the nature of the beast. BUT, in my opinion, why would you wanna leave a school that has a rich tradition, can recruit with anyone in the country, you have a AD that BLEEDS orange, and a fan base that is bat **** crazy about the VOLS, and if given a little bit of time can return to a national powerhouse. And he can win TITLES here. He’s in a great situation and his family loves Knoxville. He could have waited out and went back to Bama as a assistant and then became a Head coach in waiting. Instead, he came to TN. He knew, with a couple good recruiting classes he could awake the monster that is TENNESSEE FOOTBALL. And make no mistake, TN belongs with the Elite.

And yes, I know he has Bama blood. I get that. But it’s gonna be awfully hard to follow in Sabans footsteps. Doesn’t matter who comes in after Saban, living up to those standards is gonna be hard for anyone. Saban is one of the best coaches of all time. Period.

There is also different personnel in charge at UT now. As long as Phil is in Charge, he will throw his weight around, no pun intended. People listen to Phil, he demands excellence and won’t settle for anything less. When he walks into any complex on campus, people pay attention to him, they know that he is Mr. Vol. He demands respect and gets it.

For the record, Phil really likes Pruitt. They have a strong bond and Phil knows the program is in good hands.

So for people that still say, “Pruitt is a Bama guy”, yes he is, but he’s also a VOL, and a think will be for a long time. If we start to win and win consistently, UT will pony up and pay him. And I don’t have any doubts that UT is gonna win and win big in the near future.

This class is going to change the VOLS. Better buckle up cause it’s just gonna get more crazy in the next few months.

Btw, got two that will 💥 soon. Stay tuned.

Y’all have a great week.
And good morning to you too, Mr. Metal! 🧡

We parade 0 commits in front of Brooks and maybe we don’t get him...or Wilcoxson. That narrative gets circulated that no one wants to sign on. This is a hot run, but we weren’t at Bama, Clemson or tOSU level yet and still aren’t.

This run of commitments has been great and looks like there will be more coming, but this now puts tremendous pressure on the team to perform on the field or else we'll see some attrition as other schools use that against us. I'm thinking we can't be worse than 9-3 which means we're got to at least win one of the big 4 games, i.e. Bama, UF, OU and UGA and no blow-out losses. But even then it will be tough, I think 10-2 keeps them all in the fold.

OL, DL and DBs will probably be the story. Ball control and no big mistakes on D. Losing the spring probably hurts us more than anyone on the OL, except UGA. This would be the year those OT's normally develop the most, building on that 1st year exposure as to what big boy football really is. Trey Smith has a big leadership role, more so with the loss of spring football. This needs to be an offense that faces a lot more 3rd and 3's rather than the 3rd and 9's of the last 2 years, especially with the inconsistency at QB and the lack of experience at WR and TE.

Oh how I miss Josh Dobbs right now.

Always a ray of sunshine regardless of topic. Of course we have to show progress. Eight regular season wins and one over the big four would be enough. But pressure to win with want to win is a good thing. That is there regardless of who we have in a class. It’s not a but, a bad thing, but what should be an expected thing and this staff embraces it. Butch tried to always downplay the expectations. He wasn’t a real football coach. Now, we got one who not only welcomes it but has his own competitive desire to win and never make excuses.

Agree. I'd say a couple of those early ones end up some where else anyway

Thought this was interesting watch during recruiting “downtime”. Fred White and Billy Ratliff chatting about Big Al owning Peyton way back when.

Expected more out of the story...since Big Al was blowing big chunks during that game, also.

No. Based off of TOS, reading tea leaves, and what we're recruiting we will take 1 DT, 1 DE, 1 LB, 3 OL, 1 DB and we will oversign in this class. That doesn't include us trying to recruit over current commits at TE and WR.

something i was thinking about yesterday as we moved to 21 commits, and the topic of attrition continues to be a thing, and likely will be until it's not.

we took several early committments from guys that most of us kinda shook our head at and immediately correlate some of those to a kid like Roman Harrison or the WR that ultimatley wound up at FSU in the first cycle.....

i have taken a little different thought process to it though as i've now seen what's come the past 10 dyas or so.

i think taking some of those early committments was, in some cases maybe, a strategy to help bridge the gap during the shut downs. no on campus camps, no all star camps etc....so how can a kid that no one's heard of get heard of in this environment?

well, i give you TN recruiting. we talk about the pruitt bump right....well, it has happened, and we've all see how often we offer a kid and literally w/in a week, some of our main competitors offer. point being...an offer from Pruitt and co. puts eyes on a kid that otherwise may have not been rated, or evaluated, by a recruiting service, or by other programs.

so i wouldn't be surprised if some of the offers we've made weren't made simply for that reason. that there was an understanding between the recruit and us that "hey, we do like you as a prospect, and we'll take your committment (for all these reasons), but definitely keep your options open....we can't gurantee you'll have a spot, but use this time to get noticed, take your phone calls and we'll see what happens at hte end of the road"

i think that may also help explain why there's a lot of "good will" it seems amongst prospects right now. and i wouldn't really be surprised to find out this isn't the first time we've done something like that....just might be a little more pronounced right now simply because of covid shutting the off season camps down.

or im fos.
I actually thought of this, and if not that then it will at least be helping them if they're not going to end up at Tennessee.
