He played 85 games with the White Sox in '93 and hit 16 HRs and 75 games with the Angels in '94 and hit 13 HRs. Like I said, a shell of what he was, but give him a full 162 game schedule and he would have been a 30 HR guy, with an artificial hip, which is mad impressive in my eyesIf he did, it was probably just for exposition
Thank you for asking, but I was not. I was in 489th Civil Affairs Company (later we became a battalion) out of Knoxville. We were affiliated/attached with the 101st out of Ft. Campbell. Our job was to manage civilians and try to keep out of the Army's way and to provide emergency relief, if possible, where needed.Were you in the 82nd, brother?
I used to believe Byrd was wasted at WR. Now I lean towards both Martin and Byrd as talented athletes who weren’t talented players. Would’ve been great to see them properly coached up from the beginning tho.
