Was talking about this in a meeting today. Who’s the player that you whiffed on the most? Either as a recruit thinking he’d be great here. Or thought he would be great in the nfl and wasn’t.

Couple for me. My first year with Kiffin...Brandon Warren thought Even tho he was undersized thought he Would be a serious weapon here.

Brent Vinson. Easily the best pure athletes we had. Could do between the legs dunk off an oop. Never was committed and should’ve played WR.

A couple that I immediately thought of...

Passing on Patrick Willis for Daniel Brooks.

I thought Chris Donald was going to be Al Wilson 2.0, and we should have never let Randall Cobb out of the state.

And for my East TN folks, what about jumping in the wayback machine and bringing up Byron Gillespie from Greeneville?

Again, I think ESPN's rankings are worthless, and Rivals is trending that direction. The only reasons to have a Rivals account are Hubbs and AP.

Yeah I think most of our movement will be the lower rated guys including Salter. I'm not really upset with guys dropping only a couple of spots in the 250 because very few players receive bumps and they had to adjust everyone down. Our total points did increase from 1800 to 2000 so i'm curious to see who got their ranking increased.

I really thought Kahlil McKenzie was going to be an All-American and future 1st rounder. Measurables were off the charts. I recall reading that in high school he was benching 225 at reps even 2/3 the DL at the combine weren't doing. Subsequently at his actual combine, we only benched 225 26 times, which was barely average for a DL that year. That's the Butch Jones work out program for you.

From an NFL standpoint, I really thought Jason Allen would be a star. Dude was amazing in college. Ran a sub 4.4 40 at the combine, had the length teams craved, and lined up everywhere in the secondary at TN. He stayed around for awhile, but largely was a bust.

Gavin Bryant. Really thought he was a diamond in the rough

That's a valid point, but Bo is the best two sport athlete since Jim Thorpe, IMO. I almost wish he had played only baseball. He may have been a Hall of Famer if he had.

Bo Jackson is also the only athlete to be selected to a NFL Pro Bowl team and MLB All-Star team.
